What would you want in Capitalism III?

If there will be a sequel to the game, what would you like to be improved or added?

I would want these things to be added:

1. A simple auto-pricer in any sales unit that will sell any products with x% profit. You can change the percentage profit. This way if the purchase price is increased, you do not need to micromanage the price and it will automatically be raised.

2. A warehouse that allows ten times more items to be stored per inventory unit than in a retail/manufacturing inventory unit. The warehouse does not need any purchasing and sales units. You just need to determine what it will store. It will still need to display essential information like stock, price, quality, etc.

3. More complex firms, with 16 units instead of 9, can sell/produce up to 8 different items. Anything beyond 16 units can be way to complicated.

4. More controls over COO and CTO. You can set the minimum profit that COO must set a product price at. You can control what you want CTO to concentrate on researching: Apparel, Furniture, Drugs, Semi Products, etc.

5. More public services: power plants, water supply. You can buy these government firms and set the prices for water and electricity. Factory uses most energy, farms use most water.

I would add logistic to the game.
Something like combining Capitalism II and Industry Giant II

re: What would you want in Capitalism III?

Oooh, Capitalism III! I've actually thought quite a lot what kind of features it should have.

1. Less micromanagement & tediousness. There should be some kind of an auto pricing system. A way to clone shops.

2. The capacities between purchase/manufacture/sales units vary wildly. Their capacities should be told more clearly or make them easier to balance. Maybe rework the firm flowchart system.

3. Better stock market. I've actually tried playing like Warren Buffett a couple of games and it works adequotely at best. Acquiring whole companies is prohibitely expensive.

4. There should be a way to keep the bought companies independent subsidiaries. You could appoint the managers and tell them what kind of strategy to pursue.

5. Better media/real estate firms. The only way to manage them now is to set the price.

etc etc, could write an essay about this one

it should definetely be possible to have more than one company. For example you could start a company that produces furniture like beds and chairs and than one for clothes. When it comes to restructuring companies or merger is it much easier and more fun ifyou can have smaller specialized companies and brands.

re: What would you want in Capitalism III?

1. oil stations (sell gasoline for cars,by previous manufacturing in oil plants)
2. make the dividends received from other companies be operating profit
3. vice presidents (one for retail, one for manufacturing...)
4. more control over subsidiaries (buy firms through them...)
5. more cities
6. power plants
7. new products, like ipods, software, music...
8. assign a different person to be the CEO, keeping yourself as only the chairman.

re: What would you want in Capitalism III?

Oh, I have been waiting for Capitalism III for a loong time! CapII was and still is so good game, even if it could have been even better..

-First of all, inflation. It's existence would be one basic thing in economy.
-a Central bank that sets the inflation and maybe some other things too according to the state of the economy in different countries/cities.
-Borrow/loan function: Even if I had cash for 100 Billion I could not loan so much money and the interest rate would still be about 10%. Stupid! It would have to be the wealth that makes the interest rate!
-CapII didn't make ANY difference whether a shop was located downtown or in the far end of a city, products sold anyway! Very weird! Change that to look like the real world!
Land costs has to vary much more: one could buy some waste land for almost nothing, as central locations really would cost 1000 or 10000 times that, or a really sky high price. Like 100 millions for a place for a shop. And no factories allowed in the city centre. AND the sell would be 100 times bigger too!!!
-your competitors were really easy to beat in CapII: all you had to do was to create one single product first (not a complicated one, a leather belt for example was a good one always) with high quality and pay for commercials (a lot) and it sold very well. Then you could start to expand and competitors were unable to compete against you. Maybe time to change that a little bit would you think?
-One big problem in CapII was the lack of growth. I mean the cities were never growing, mostly just had depressions even if there were every product sold in the city and a huge company (mine) that had tens of thousands of employees!
I never understood this. After 50 years of playing, the city was always much smaller than when I started. Why?
-if some property was destroyed or a competitor went down and all his buildings were erased, the city itself never built any buildings itself to replace those "holes", why?? very stupid i think. The city should build there some buildings after a half year and the city would grow.
And if a city is growing, it would be expanding all the time, would it not! And some help from the game, what You could do to help the city to grow. The bigger the city, the bigger the sales like I earlier mentioned. The growth would also make huge cities possible, with 20 million citizen or so possible. All the land area filled with houses, shops and factories and more! THAT would be something!!
-taxes: pay some tax every year of your profits. The more taxes, the better the city's economy and the higher growth (and higher inflation) for example.
-A LOT more automation to help a player. Frustration is big when you have to set all things by your self. This is the problem of every strategy game in the market: the end game is really hard to manage and takes hours because you have to do everything yourself. Price every product in every shop your self. Build every factory yourself. Set all product chain yourself. Why can't you just buy the land and the other chiefs you hire would do it? In CapII the other chiefs did basically absolutely nothing so I never bothered to hire them.

-And finally: Don't change everything in the game, so much was good already!

PS. I loved CapII and thought it was quite easy game. I did all the missions with the hardest 200% challenge after playing it a lot.
