Nintendo ds and vs others

I have 2 nintendo ds. I need to rep lace hinges on both top lcd screen on one and possibly motherboard on other. Im searching for parts but am confused . Whenever I find parts or instructions they are for a dsi, ds lite or ds 3d. What does a regular ds go by? And where can I find parts and instructions to repair. Thanks son much.

The original DS isn't going to have very many parts around places like eBay. There is, however, the Nintendo Repair Shop that carries parts for the original Nintendo DS. You can find instructions on YouTube. Try "original" or "phat," as Saga suggested.

Also, on the DS where you suspect there's a motherboard issue: What exactly happens when you attempt to power it on or charge it? If it turns on and something shuts the system off after a while, there may be a battery issue. If it won't turn on or charge at all, you definitely do have a motherboard issue. I found these auctions for an original DS motherboard on eBay, since the first site doesn't seem to carry motherboards. Note that changing the motherboard will change your friend codes and wipe any WiFi settings.

Yep, it's a faulty main board. Replacing it (or the whole system) is your only option here.
