Forgive me for not reading the 33 pages of info. Really. I bought my son the Action Replay as a reward for some really hard studying. His friends have it. It isn't working like it should. I beg you to show me in a way that I can understand. Understand that I am very computer literate but game illiterate. I have windows xp. Perhaps I can help you. First of all, reset the AR. Even if you already have, reset it. When you turn on the DS (with the AR inserted!) hold A+B. Let go when you see the Main Screen (it's the screen with the Start button on it.)
If you can't get to the Start screen, the AR is defunct, buy a new one. After that, install the USB drivers for the Action Replay (if you have 64-bit Vista, they won't ever work, sorry.) Connect the AR to the computer, while it's in the DS and the DS is on.
Codejunkies has stopped giving out codes, for the most part. You'll have to use your superior Googling powers to find some. They are in this Hexadecimal format:
94000130 FFE45DA. Once you find some, you must add the codes via the included program. Using the program, create a new codelist for the New Super Mario Bros. If you can't find the Game's ID, it will show up on the AR start screen when you put the game in. It'll say unkown game and list the ID at the bottom of the screen. After you add the game to your new codelist, and add the codes you found online, drag and drop the codes to the left, DS side of the screen. After the codes are copied, you should be able to cheat in your game. Good luck!

If you saved while those codes were on, you'll keep the number of whatever you have even with codes off. Like, if you don't ever turn the codes on again, and you buy something, the amount of money will go down from say, 99999 to 99989 if you buy something worth 10. If you really must set your money back, edit the codes you have for max whatever and change the values after the address to 0x00000000.
