It started with the snails… no… it started long before that… aids, sars, bird flu, they all just appeared out of nowhere. They didn’t come from monkeys, genetic labs, or birds, they are replacements, replacements of things like smallpox, measles, and black plague. All of witch is easily curable now, but somehow… gone…
The year is 2012, and there is little life on earth that hasn’t been introduced by the strange alien ship slowly approaching our planet. Even plants such as grass and trees are gone.
Mankind first began noticing the switching when dogs and cats slowly began vanishing, being replaced by strange six-legged mammals and lizard creatures with one eye stalk on top of four long legs. Bigfoot, loch ness, the duck billed platypus, all of them alien. Replacing things like the dodo, the black rhinoceros, and some spices of whale.
Scientists believe it all started around the time of king Arthur. Possibly explaining the absence of things like dragons and unicorns, despite they’re being so many records of them.
Strangely enough, the aliens seem perfectly adapted to our environment, we aren’t sure how, but some suspect the ship slowly change’s its inner environment to match its next target.
As I look around our small encampment now, I see what remains of our world. New diseases and new animals have wrecked havoc on us; we can barely eat any of the alien plants without fear of death. Is this the way the aliens take over new planets? Replace everything with their own, then just wave goodbye?
To any alien that finds this notebook, I don’t know if you’re intelligent, friendly, or savage. Just know this. We are humans, and this is earth.
Terry placed the notebook on the rock he was sitting on and closed his eyes. Opening them again when he felt a strange tickle in his toes. He looked around, the others looked as if they where experiencing the same, suddenly there was a scream, then… it stopped. It didn’t finish it just… stopped. “It’s happening” terry heard someone say. Terry knew everyone was thinking the same thing. They where the last of earth’s creations, and it was their time to go. Suddenly the tickle ran all the way up to terry’s head, and a flash of blue filled his eyes. He was being taken to the ship. While being teleported, terry saw the shape of the alien who was replacing him, terry squinted his eyes, trying to get a clear view of the alien.
It was purple in color, with small round eyes that glowed a bright blue. It looked at terry with those blue eyes, examining him just as he was examining it. It wore a red robe, which went all the way to its feet, hiding most of its body. A tuff of bright orange hair was on top of its large round neck; witch was connected to its slim body with a thin neck. As terry passed it in mid teleport, it reached a three-fingered hand towards him, and he reached back. The moment their figures where about to collide, terry emerged on the giant spaceship, alongside hundreds of other, confused humans. All completely healthy, even if they where sick on their deathbed back on earth. Terry gasped as he looked at the inside of the ship, it mimicked their blue sky, wild animals and plants grew everywhere, and for the first time, mankind saw their new home.
The story takes place a month after the humans have been teleported to the alien ship, shelters have been built, and several tribe-like communities have been made. And relative acceptance of their fate has fallen on the human race.
The ship is big enough to hold all life that used to be on earth, so don’t expect to come across a wall or something without walking for a few weeks.
