Protagonists
Jayden-26-Male Jayden, in his young life, was a seemingly normal boy, with regular friends, Reyes, and regular parents who made a steady living through farming and smithing. His father, a very skilled smith, allowed Jayden to play with blunt and undangerous swords he made just for him, and the kings army for sparring. He would flail around, but eventually became skilled at fighting with a sword. At the age of 14, normal age for boys wanting to become knights to be tested, his were infected by a slow, but dangerous virus, so he had to take care of them instead. The virus, potent to adults, was almost null and void to anybody below age 34. When his parents passed away, now at the age of 16, he had only what his parents left him. He applied for knights school, and was able to exceed the limits of fighting capabilities of all of the other students, and quickly caught the eye of the king and other powerful nobles. Running out of money fast, with no way to get any back, he needed to quit Knight school at the age of 18, four years before he could have graduated. Just when Jayden thought this was the worst thing that could possibly happen, he had a stroke of luck. He had caught the eye of many rich nobles, one of whom agreed to pay for knights school, as long as once he was a knight, ¼ of his salary would be given to him until the debt was paid off. He enthusiastically agreed, and was back in knight school within the month. After knight school, as he was paying off the debt of the noble who had lended him assistance, he was quickly in a bunk with a few other knights until war called. Being on the largest, and, generally regarded as the most powerful continent, they weren't attacked much, and he was never called on, until that one fateful day…
Reyes-25-Male Reyes was a close friend of Jayden's, from childhood to knight school. Once out of knight school, they grew apart from each other, as they were in separate bunks in separate sectors. They started to crack in knight school when Jayden trained by the sword, and Reyes trained by spear and lance, not to mention the one year difference in age. Reyes's training proceeded along schedule, with nothing to be worried about. He graduated, and was called out to war many times because of his keen eyesight, and long spear (for range). He was a talented fighter, and was awarded a nicer, larger bunk all to himself, after assisting him with fixing the flaws to the battle plan. Many knights were jealous, so to make sure there were no hard feelings, he'd take a few soldiers over to his bunk every now and then, when they weren't on duty. Eventually, at the age of 24, 2 years after graduating, Reyes suffered a horrible leg injury. While horrible and painful it was, it was not life threatening. Unfortunately, he couldn't fight because of it, and was pulled from duty. At the age of 25, fully healed, the King wanted to enlist him back into service, but rumor had it he had sneaked out to fight other enemies before rejoining the king's army. Now with Zentronon threatening this world, the king would like nothing more than to have Reyes back at his side, yet he finds out he has joined forces with Jayden, one of your other greatest warriors, to go into a more personal and up-close battle against Zentronon.
Felix-36-Male A childhood neighbor of Jayden and Reyes also had a father for a smith. He never went to knight school, or any other type of fighting school, yet still was an extraordinary fighter. He wielded two thin, yet long and stiff hunting knives. So fast, was he, that, when hunting, he would always get the most kills; when sparring, he would never be touched. Proud and firm, his family was, so to help him come into the family business, they sent him to the mountains for months at a time to break rocks, and sometimes shape them.
Adina-19-Female This spoiled teenage girl learned respect the hard way. Having rich parents who were VERY important to the government and war activities on Barela, she couldn't have been happier; she got everything she wanted, knew everything she wanted, and could do anything she wanted. Unfortunately, one night, demons snuck up on the house, and burned it down. She fled the house, being the only surviving member of the family. She was so accustomed to having everything at her disposal, and never needing to do anything, she was VERY annoyed when a boatman would not allow her to go over to Faine without paying. She ran wildly about until she fainted, and was found by an old healer who brought her back to health. At age 15 now, she was anxious yet unmanageable. When finally, the old healer got fed up, she ordered the girl to start doing housework. This was the worst time of her life, though it gave her a new hobby: magic. She discovered she had a knack for it from the old healer. As she was treating the wounds of an injured deer, Adina listened and watched what was done. Later, when she found an injured cat on the ground, she tried it herself, and the cat was up and bounding playfully soon. After leaving the healer, and thanking her for the help, she went off on her own, starting a journey for power. She hoped to revive the family fortune with magic. Adina started off by going to the few remaining magicians and asking for apprenticeships. Only one accepted. She was to become a mage at the age of 17. Meron by name, he was old, kind, and wise. He helped Adina learn the basic fundamentals of magic, and a few more powerful spells so that she could defend herself more easily. Once she left Meron, she wandered into the desert, seeking secrets unknown to humans. Finding a torn and bloody page of a spell book, most probably sliced off when a demon was killed in battle, she learned more powerful spells, and was now truly set on what to do.
Antagonists
Zentronon-??-Male Little is known about Zentronon or his powers, as few survive him when they go to attempt to arrest him. All that is known is that he is trying to unlock the ancient secrets of the Destruction Code: Ultima, and he has extraordinary control over lightning and weather, while still being able to use a sword in close combat to some degree
??
Mae-21-Female Mae was a middle-class girl in her young age with a perfect life; friends, a home, food, shelter, money, and an education that was going great. Nobody would've ever imagined her ever being reduced to a thief who would maim, hurt, or kill other people for certain valuables. Well, it's what she was reduced to. At the age of 7, long before she would have started to learn to be a woman of business, her parents were murdered by Zentronon's henchmen when they had no further use of them. They were smart and weak, like their daughter, so couldn't be used as slaves. Just killed. They never noticed her hiding under and old chair in her parent's closet. When she was sure that the evil was gone, she came out of the closet to find that almost everybody in the town was gone. Mae went from house to house, taking what she thought she could use, thinking to herself, "They're all gone; they won't be needing it again anyway…", because of course, she was still long from thiefhood. Still, she began to make a habit of taking things from everywhere; houses, traveler's pockets, old ruins, etc. Every once-in-awhile, she'd chance upon a sword, club, or knife. She would promptly take these, knowing she'd need them some day when she was taking revenge upon Zentronon.
The world The world of Umbrenox is separated into 3 continents. The smallest being an unforgiving and harsh land of demons and beasts. While the larger land mass is inhabited by humans and other races, but remains at peace. The largest of the three lands, Barela, is inhabited by both demons, and humans. And is at civil war with itself.
Of the three continents on Umbrenox, there are but 3 countries. The smallest continent, Jholge, has no leader, and no government. It is ran by the inhabitants. Faine, the land of humans, is ruled by two countries, Ralhm, and Eirnan. Both countries are at war for dominion of the others resources. Ralhm, situated near, and on the mountain ranges, has an excellent source for hunting wild animals. while Eirnan is situated in the baron lands, where the most common source of trade is the vast amounts of ores drawn from caverns.
Barela, considered a cursed land, is in a civil war. Humans and demons fighting against each other to take the now empty thrown of the one country, Benitein, which is the most powerful country militarily.
A war started 118 years ago, still rages during current times. A war between demons, and humans, who are fighting to control the country of Benitein, which is the most capable plot of land to strike from. Demons and men alike seek control over this territory for various reasons. And so the war of Benitein continues after 118 years of fighting.
While Ubrenox only holds one formal religion, it is seemingly corrupted with power. Dispatching forces to “humanitize” demonic lands. While the true motive of the church is unknown, rumors constantly arise of corruption within it’s walls.
The forces of Umbrenox vary on extraordinary levels. Demonic warriors hold many abilities, including transformations. While the most feared force, is the demonic berserkers. Seemingly undefeatable fiends, whose powers are un-matched amongst others. Humans hold some magical abilities, but their main advantage is shear numbers, and their mass amounts of resources. Demons however, could fight for days on end, without eating or drinking a thing. Leaving human soldiers at yet another disadvantage.
Lastly, the church holds it’s own force. The D.R.F, or Demonic Retribution Factions. The troops, consist of a handful of the most skilled warriors in the world. Deployed to “purify” Demonic presences, and demonic sympathizers. The DRF’s are feared for their brutality. Even by humans.
Code ultima Code ultima is a locked form of magic, that can only be used by a select few of an ancient blood line. This magic allows the user to create things that do not exist. To alter realms, and create entirely new lands. While it’s power is incomprehensible, it is often locked. Preventing the wielder from doing much more than creating an imaginary realm.
The only known wielder of this ability is Zentronon, son of a powerful magician who was capable of controlling the elements, and even birthing golems. Zentronon is wanted by Faine, Due to his desire to rule all the lands. Zentronon despises humans to the extent of death, which provokes any person in a position of authority to attempt to capture him.
Though his code is still weak, Zentronon has gained the ability to summon demons and fiends, as well as his mastery over lightning and thunder. Unknowing of the secret to unlocking his code, Zentronon has not made a large scale move yet. But it is widely known that If he were to break the lock on his code, it would mean destruction on a global scale.
Story Zentronon, A man bent on ruling all of the lands for his deceased fathers sake, seeks a hidden knowledge that his father once discovered. Lost in time, the notes of Sigganyo contained the secret to unlocking the human gene.
Humans have always controlled the earth, and its elements. Wind, and water, and in rare cases, even the weather. However, this made things to easy, and they quickly over populated the land. With no worries about farming, and building, they had it easy ,and simply lived. Though with the over population, came exploration, and with that, the discovery of evil.
On a land far away was discovered great fiends and demons. Through studies, it was discovered that demons could control all elements. And cause changes on a universal scale. Upon this discovery, curiosity brought research. Though many new discoveries were made regarding what the humans had named magic, the code was never broken.
One man by the name of Sigganyo, was widely rumored to continue research through his entire life. But only his son, Zentronon, knew the truth. Sigganyo was the first, and the last man to decode the human gene, and unlock the devastating powers within them.
Zentronon, knowing the truth behind his fathers life, seeks the information to unlocking what was named the human “code”. Seeking to conquer the lands for his father’s sake, Zentronon has become a national villain in the eyes of many. His name spreads like a virus through the lands, and is wanted by all.
While his power is greater than most all humans, his code is still locked. Leaving his powers at a limit. While constantly being hunted by the DRFs, Zentronon searches for his fathers lost research.

less than 2%. -,- Untill we're sure about the ending of the demo, i don't want to work on it.
RMXP is the ONLY tool we will be using. I will build out database, and use a calculater, but thats it. Scenes are easy to build in rmxp, so there is no need for another tool.

Just like to bring it up, if we're using ripped resources from "real" games, i'm totally out. The domain expired 8-01-07, meaning the download is not available.

re: Destruction Code: Ultima~~~ new stuff here!
|
I could upload it to you for PM later...
also, we're less than 2% done with production? or in total? in total, I probably would've said more like 20% because the whole story is written. we just need to map, add details, make stuff happen...

You may not understand yet, but dungeons can take alot of time, expecially for me. If you count story, maybe around 20%, but how i would put it:
Story: 90-100% Maps: 5% Scripts: 60% Events: >5% (is that less than?) Characters: 90%
Dungeons and puzzles will take a bit longer. I'm not very keen on ideas for puzzles.
If i HAD to put a date on it, and we continued a steady pace, i would say the release might be around january 08 at the earliest. just rounded off atleast. Though i suspect issues later on, and a more appropriate date is fall 2008.
Though the first demo may be out pretty soon, so long as i don't mess up. (within 2 weeks maybe?)

that was part of the problem. you never told me or arion_orion what you were working on, you started working on another game, you hadn't posted anything on MY forum since saying stuff about your OTHER game, and you hadn't posted on our threads in a long time either... me and arion_orion are way further ahead in the production now! if you DO send me what you never did... then we'll use it and give you credit... so far, we're not using anything of yours except what me and you, or all three of us came up with as a group.

slowly can be good, yet it can also be bad. if you mean 'slowly' by, "I'm not working on it because *insert phrase here*", then it's bad. if you mean 'slowly' by "it's going slowly because *insert phrase here*", then it can be for good or for bad.
P.S. arion, i know some people, and like, certain sites dont work for them... they just dont download. maybe that's what hellodan meant.
P.S.S. MS time

I like how this game has evolved. At first it was a n00b game but eventually evolved into a complex project that will become an amazing game. Good job guys
