Side-view

This is only a recommendation, but don't use Minkoff. There are like... 25 sprites for it, total. Only 5 or so are monsters. It's cool, but there aren't enough resources to make a real game yet.


EDIT: Just took a look, I can't find the script.

You can try a few things:

1. Try a modified version of the regular one, like a time limit for the player and monster based on agility.

2. Try to find a different Side-View system. They're really not too useful if you don't know how to sprite though.

3. Try an ABS, or an Active Battle System. They're like, you press space and they swing a sword. Maple Story or Runescape. They're fun and good, but often take more effort than they're worth.

4. Try to find a good TBS, or Tactical Battle System. If you've ever played Fire Emblem or Tactics Arena Online, you know what I mean by TBS. Unfortunately, not a lot of good ones have been made for RMXP to my knowledge, and I'm also not sure how they'd do in a game.

It doesn't need resources. It uses characters, right? Like, it just uses the normal sprites... Right?

I have the Atoria system, a really nice Side View system stocked with a bunch of other crap too. Unfortunately, I don't think any battler template was ever made, so it's fairly useless.
