I never actually beat this game

Nope, never actually did! I always got stuck around the part where you rescue the prince and princess (or something, I havent played in a while) And you have to rescue... ummm... someone else. Then I would always die.

is this making sense? no?

re: I never actually beat this game

The bit where you rescue (I believe) the King and Queen is just after you defeat Death Adder on mission 6. After that you've got to venture into the castle (mission 7) and after that you have a confrontation with the end boss, which is the final level.

That's it, I always lose on mission 7. The very beginning of it too.

In the past I have completed this game without losing a single life, just bars off my life.

That's gotta be a lie right there. The last boss is insanely difficult.

I never beat it myself. That was one of my most favorite games going up.

Death Bringer is. He's similar to Death Adder, the boss of the Arcade version, but with a few differences. His ground attack is far more deadly as it sends bolts of electricity in all directions which then home in on you instead of just one at you, he also has two invincible skeleton bodyguards which inconvenience you the whole fight. The third change is that every time he hits you he follows it up with a magic attack. If he hits you with his axe, he uses Gulius' second magic attack, but if he hits you with a bolt of electricity then he uses his version of Tyris Flare's Dragon attack, usually taking off 2 complete bars of your health.

I remember beating this game when I was younger!

When I was 'younger' being one and a half years ago. Thats when I got my ps2, before then I was all about the megadrive. I played golden axe non-stop until I finished it.

Death Bringer was a badass

Wow, I never knew the arcade and console versions of the game were different. I thought Death Adder was the final boss because HIS theme music is on vgmusic.com and Death Bringer's isn't.

How can you not finish the game? All you really need is fifteen minutes and and a few quarters and your all set. It has a pretty cool ending too. I insist that you beat the game.

re: I never actually beat this game

I just downloaded the rom. I finally lost the game on the level where you arrive at the castle (on the back of a giant eagle? WHAT THE HELL?)

Turns out the game isn't as good as I thought I remembered it was... I keep getting gang raped by enemies. I have no time to actually hit one of them without 2 others doing the run jump kick move in my face, or just getting behind me and sticking something up my pooper. Then the guy in front joins in. Pain ensues.

I also can't work out why you only seem to lose a life bar SOMETIMES. Not always.

re: I never actually beat this game

Some attacks do less than a unit of damage, so they add up until they do. Other attacks, like a BigBoy Hammer hit, do a full unit per hit. Wow, I can't believe you get ganged up on, you can beat the game without losing a unit of life lol
