Konan is bound to be strong to a certain degree, thanks to plot no jutsu. Still, I'm not particularly sure how paper jutsu are going to be strong enough to contend with pretty much any other jutsu, origami styled jutsu was bound to show up as soon as Sai showed off his ink techniques though. Which Konoha ninja is going to die due to multiple paper cuts then?
Again, Hidan was only taken out due to plot no jutsu. Hidan killed Sarutobi Asuma so of course Shikamaru had to get revenge. Maybe Sasuke should take note from Shikamaru on the whole revenge thing, seeing as Shikamaru managed it on a S-ranked seemingly immortal ninja in a ridiculously small amount of time.
I never liked Deidara and Sasori was only cool whilst inside Hiruko.
Never understood why Pein is taking orders from Madara. Yes, Uchiha Madara has the Mangekyou Sharingan without the deteriorating eye-sight but still, Pein supposedly has the most powerful doujutsu in the Narutoverse, not forgetting 6 bodies with different abilities.
I can't really comment on Zetsu, apart from looking like a venus fly trap, having multiple personalities and being crap at commentating on battles, I know nothing about him.
As for Kakuzu, I only thought he was cool when he suddenly appeared behind Shikamaru who had Hidan caught up in a shadow bind jutsu [Link]. The elemental combo's were pretty cool but I'm expecting to see much better ones from Pein.
Uchiha Itachi. Not sure what's going on with Itachi, is he dead or unconscious in the latest chapter? In anycase, Zetsu mentioned Itachi seemed to be taking hits which he should otherwise dodge easily, was coughing up blood and seemed wounded from a fight before the showdown with Sasuke. I really hope he isn't dead so theres chance they redeem his character, Itachi seemed 10x stronger against Kakashi and the others when we first saw him in Konoha then what he did against Sasuke.
Hoshigaki Kisame is where its at, I can't wait to see his fight with Suigetsu, Juuno and Karin. I'm thinking Kisame is one of the strongest in Akatsuki; He handled Team Gai relatively easily with only 30% of his maximum chakra output, which was stated by Neji to be equal to that of Kyuubi Naruto's during the Chuunin Exam. Kisame's chakra capacity, combined with his sheer strength (over-powering Asuma with the tip of his blade) and ownership of the Samehada, a sword which only he can wield and has the ability to absorb chakra, amounts to Kisame being one tough mother*bleep*er.Mod Edit: Mar 25, 08 by Mirage

And yet one of them can be defeated by tossing a bucket of water on them. In Konan's defense, being weak against water doesn't mean you can't still be a powerful fighter. Take the Sandman (from Spider-Man) and Mr. Crocodile (from One Piece), for example. They're great despite their weakness. I could go on, but you probably get the point.

Yeah but Mr. Crocodile lived in a desert. Besides, who the hell has a weakness to water and stays in a place called "Village Hidden in Rain"?

The whole thing is dissapointing to me right now really the whole sasuke vs. Itachi fight been exaggerated I was expecting a lot more. Jiraya dying that really sucked, and all the Akatsuki dying pretty easily in my opinion. Also Naruto's growth to me really in this series yeah his gotten a bit smarter, but overrall he is pretty damn weak, and knows very few useful techniques his main tactic is still shadow clone justu. I was expecting more from Naruto when he came back from his training with Jiraya.
Also it seems all the Sannins have the ability to transform into some kind of Sannin form, so does that mean Tsunade can too?

Think about it: first Oro, then Jiriya...

Yeah but Mr. Crocodile lived in a desert. Besides, who the hell has a weakness to water and stays in a place called "Village Hidden in Rain"? Yeah, I'd been expecting someone to point out those environmental differences. So then, I guess I should make a different example, still from One Piece. A lot of the characters in the story are Devil Fruit users, so if they fall in water, they'll sink like stones. And most of them are freakin' sea-faring pirates and marines. Talk about a huge environmental disadvantage! Luffy's the best example, since he's so clumsy and often ends up falling in the water. But in the end, Luffy's still incredibly powerful and only the toughest/craziest people dare to mess with him. And whenever he does fall to his weakness, his teammates are always there to pull him out. That's a good comparison to Konan, who was helped out by Pain once her weakness was exploited (she got soaked by Jiraiya's flammable oil or whatever). Everyone has a weakness that can be balanced out by another's strength, and in the process, overcome by teamwork. Even if they're at an environmental disadvantage. Anyway, this new chapter was awesome. I had two theories about Tobi: That there are either two different people with the same mask, or that there is one that can teleport across vast distances in a short period of time (or instantaneously). Looks like this chapter proves that it was the latter. But then that leaves me confused about Tobi's personality. Does he have split personalities, or is he just putting on a stupid act? I sure hope it's not the latter. That would disappoint me greatly. Highlight this box with your cursor to read the spoiler text.
My favorite part was when Tobi waved to his enemies and sidestepped Kiba's attack.

Still a forum gangsta. That's never going to change.

XD Tobi just sucks all the seriousness out of everything. "Heya!" ahaha
Loved the closeup of his Sharingan at the end. Contrast of seriousness there to his antics.

It's about time Kakashi figured out that the mysterious Tobi has the Sharingan. He'll probably get the whole story from Sasuke after the team finds him.
