	Log in to remove this sponsored message Hello there! Empire Earth doesn't start at all. 1. Starting Empire Earth only turns the screen to black. 2. After hitting a key a Error-Window appears: "Empire Earth.Exe - Application Error" "The instruction at "0x008d5702" referenced at "0x00000004"". The memory could not be "read" (The memory adresses do NOT change) My system: Win XP SP3 Empire Earth 1.04 (also tried the newest patch 2.0 - same error) GeForce 8800 GTS 512 (Driver: 182.06 - also tried an older one [169.21]) Gigabyte P35 DS-4 Rev. 2 (BIOS F12) I tried the following: Reinstalling EE Patches 1.04 & 2.0 Moving the intro movies so they could not be loaded Updating DirectX Different Resolutions (via Regedit or on Desktop) Compatibility Modes (Win 2000 - the others dont do anything) Now ... I don't know what to do to get it up and running -.- Can anyone provide help or ideas to fix this problem? Thanks in advance!

	I've heard this problem many times before but I have no idea how to fix it. 	Well, this didn't work ... like I said - I already reinstalled the game several times an used different patches, also cleaned the registry. So ... are there any other ideas?

	I was having the similar problem that whenever i used to start the application (EE), the windows error report terminal shows that 'Empire earth encountered a problem and need to be closed.' This is very irritating:# as i installed various graphics/Media accelerator software. But i was enlightened by 'Windows Update' section in which my windows updated to 'Win XP pro Service pack 3' from 'Service pack 2'. You can upgrade your windows by direct downloading the setup of next upgrade from google search. This update led to install the missing graphics files for system which was not properly installed in the last windows installation. After this i just installed 'media accelerator driver' which you can find on your pc's company's website like mine is 'ACER'. Now i am busy with playing Empire Earth a lot. Thanx to windows update feature. Hope it will work for you too. Best of Luck.
