Thief--->Rogue/Assassin

Wiki Pages
I recently trained colm to l. 20 as a thief, and am having a tough time choosing what to do next. I really would like a strong rogue to come along on in the tower/ruins to open chests, but after training rennac to l. 20 rogue, I don't think he will do the trick. My only concern is that even if I train colm to 20/20, he still won't be able to defend himself against the monsters in the upper floors of lagdou. If this is the case, I might as well get a kickass assassin. Stats included below:

Colm Rennac
Str 13 14
Skill 12 26
Spd 20 25
Luck 14 8
Def 7 12
Res 6 18
Move 6 6
Con 6 7
Aid 5 6
HP 33 39

thanks.

i recomend Assasin, aslo they can use lockpics, and that will do the trick, aslo a filll colm of samshirs and voila almost all the time silencer will enter active, making the game much more easy.

Go Rogue, A Support with Moulder the Boulder, and by that point, no one cares if Colm can't look after himself, he has Moulder and no AS loss Elfire watching his ass.

Also, IMO, not needing lockpicks >>> a crappy chance activated skill which no-one actually needs. Christ, who needs OHKO chances when you have Gilliam, Moulder and Neimi?

re: Thief--->Rogue/Assassin

Well, the choice is either free lockpicking and stealing or 1 HP and 1 Con at promotion. As DW alluded to, Silencer just isn't a particularly useful skill to base a decision on. Even putting aside that the chance of activation isn't that high, truth is that a critical will kill most enemies anyway. Go assassin only if you're willing to sacrifice stealing and having to rely on lockpicks or keys.

As for Colm's durability, you can beef it up with supports with Moulder, Marisa or Kyle. All provide full defence and half avoid boosts.

As for buying lockpicks, look into the secret shop at Grado Keep or Jehanna Hall. I think Port Kiris has chest keys on sale too, if you wanted to go that way instead and not worry about dragging Colm through the tower or ruins.

I'd choose an assassin just for aesthetic value, to be honest. Plus, they know their way around a sword.

I kinda like Rogue's animation better. They have more frames, which makes it smoother and their spin seems cooler than Assassin's disappearing act. x3

Assassins look cooler. Rennac is already enough for a rogue, I don't think you need another.

Sure, that assasins are cooler, but why moulder its called a "Boulder" his cons is OK, but DEF, LCK , SPD , DEF and RES are under pathetic at least in my game.

I turned him to a rouge.......... AND HE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not have another unit that is so immune to damage. He is so fast that hardly anybody can hit him. The only time he is really in danger, is once he reaches the Draco Zombies on the last floor of the ruins.

I think an assassin would be better because a couple of shamshirs and a maked colm will kill and be the better choice cuz ive got one! and the evaison is good.

I have never seen a Moulder with even average stats. Never. I have no idea what you people are on about.

Also, I prefer Rogues. The ability to open chests and doors without a lockpick is what I'm looking for, there are plenty of powerful characters in the game.
