Biggest regret (in pokemon) - Page 4

The time I didn't buy Magikarp...

My biggest regret would have to be starting over FR when i had all three starters that were all females, that i could have brought them up to diamond or soulsilver and bred them for trading/battling

Sit down kids, let me tell you the legend of Jay's Gyarados.

I was about 10 years old (ironically), and I had been recently introduced to Pokemon, and enjoyed it, so I bought FireRed. I originally bought it for Charizard, but I would soon start another Bandwagon. Anyway I played the game until I couldn't beat the Cinnabar Gym. I knew I needed a water type so I went fishing just off shore of Cinnabar. The first two Pokemon I reeled in were Magikarp. I had already been rooked out of 100 Poke Dollars for one of these weaklings so I threw them back. On the third attempt however I reeled in... Another Magikarp. But this one was special not only did it sparkle, but it was gold? So I caught it. I wanted to know what it evolved into, so I trained. I trained hard, because Magikarp are weak, and they die easily. But eventually Magikarp evolved into my Red Gyarados. Unfortunately this story doesn't have a happy ending. I managed to defeat Blaine and the remaing Gym Leaders, but I failed to beat the E4. So when I couldn't beat the E4, I made the biggest mistake of my life. I restarted the game. I lost my first shiny, because I didn't know it was so valuable. Only now do I realize what I had.
