	Log in to remove this advertisement Gary scanned Mewtwo with the Pokédex. Pokédex can't make heads or tails out of it. Pokédex in different episode said that there are 151 Pokémon, and they are all the world knows. Ash sees Ho-oh in the first episode. All of this happened before Gen 2 was up and around. Ho-oh was originally supposed to take up Mewtwo's Pokédex space and be an anime only Pokémon by this logic. Mindblown

	As far as I know, Ho-Oh's appearance was merely a hint at the second generation. As for the other bits, of course the Pokedex wouldn't know Mewtwo because it was a created Pokemon. 	Lesley Pro_04 Games were released before anime so it was impossible to add Ho-Oh into the first gen. He was a hint of next gen like Blaziken and Keckleon were in Johto episodes and Bonsly and Mime Jr. in Hoenn. Maybe Mewtwo was acknowledged as species like Ditto was (who is a failed clone of Mew) and later added to Pokedex or maybe it's simply a mistake made by Nintendo.
