Dragoon: So, Bs, congratulations on being the very first Member of the Month for the PokéForums, and by popular demand as well! So, you've been around Neo for quite some time now, when was it you started posting in the PokéForums?

Bs: Well, thank you very much! That's a pretty tough one to remember actually. I think I actually started posting in the PokéForums pretty recently, all things considered. The years when I was really playing, watching, and collecting Pokémon the most actively were all before I joined Neoseeker and the internet became a key part of everyday life really. So when I joined, I didn't really think of Pokémon to start with, and I joined mainly to discuss PS2 games. It was only pretty recently when I think we were having a nostalgic discussion in the Oldies Lounge about the old Red and Blue days, and it got me back in the mood a bit. From there I ventured into the Pokélounge and the General Pokémon forums earlier in the year and just steadily settled in from there I guess.

Dragoon: Haha, that's a different story from what most people would say when asked as to when and why they started to post in the Pokémon forums. So, you've recently been promoted to Moderator for the Pro Evolution Soccer forum. Have you moderated before and are you enjoying the position so far?

Bs: I was a moderator of the Black forum for a couple of months back in early 2006. It was a First Person Shooter from Criterion, and although I didn't apply for the role of moderator (as this was when they still accepted moderator requests), I seemed to be the person who knew the most about the game, and was one of the most enthusiastic building up to its release. I'd already set up a lot of key threads so I was asked to moderate, but the game lacked a multiplayer mode and thus lifespan, and so activity declined sharply once people started to complete it.

I needed a break from Neoseeker after that so I barely logged in for the next year and a half. I came back about 2008, and although I've done my best to try and rejoin the community as possible, I'm probably still a bit less active than I used to be, so I certainly didn't expect to be moderating again. It's nice to be asked though so I couldn't turn it down, and I'm enjoying it so far, although I've not really had any trouble to deal with yet, haha!

Dragoon: That's pretty cool When you said Black my mind went immediately to the latest iteration of the Pokémon Franchise /nerd. Even with your newly found position you can't be staring at the computer screen all day, what do you do when you're not online? Any interesting hobbies?

Bs: Oh, never underestimate a Neoseeker's ability to stare at a screen all day! Haha! But no, seriously, I've just finished my year off from studying, and although I did spend a lot of that doing not a lot, shall we say, I've just started studying French and Japanese at university so that's going to be eating up a lot of my time for the next four years. Other than that, I guess the main thing in my life would be music. I'm almost always listening to music in some form really, and when I'm not on my laptop, I'm usually playing electric guitar, which would probably be my main hobby. I've been teaching myself for a few years now so I'm hoping to steadily upgrade from the equipment I started with over the next couple of years, finances permitting. After that I'd like to get myself a decent camera as I enjoy photography a lot as well, but I've never been in a position to get a properly good camera before.

Dragoon: Photography is a hobby I myself have been wanting to get into but lack the time because of all the other things I'm doing haha, so good luck with that! Who would you say is the most influentual neoseeker to you and who has helped you to become the member you are today?

Bs: Yeah, I actually studied Photography at A-Level which helped give me a bit more focus (no pun intended) in what I'm looking for in a picture, so I definitely want to try and get a nice camera at some point in a couple of years when I can afford it more.

My most influential Neoseeker? Man, that's a tough one. I think I'd be hard pressed to name one single individual. I've been on Neoseeker for nearly 8 years now, so it's really been more of a collective thing between the communities in the different forums I've been a part of. But I suppose I have to give a special mention to February's Shadow (formerly jonesy50) and Chelskiman for encouraging me to come back to the site when I had those two years off, and then persuading me to stick around when I did, as I still had a long time when I didn't post too much and even now I sometimes find myself lurking, not knowing the forum members so well. But yeah, without those two, I probably wouldn't have come back here, so I guess they deserve some credit for that. There's many others that have been a big part of my time here though, and far too many to mention. They've all played their part though, I'd say.

Dragoon: 8 years, eh? Kinda pales in comparison to my meager 4 - 5 years on the site. Haha. Well, thank you for being interviewed by moi and again, congratulations on being the first MOTM. ;D Anyone you want to shout out to in particular?

Bs: It's certainly been a while, haha! It's quite strange to think about really. Thanks for the interview anyway, and I guess just thank you to anyone who voted for me to be interviewed. I find it hard to associate myself with anything including the words 'popular demand', haha, so thanks for your interest. If anyone wants to ask me anything else, then by all means, ask away!
