General Pokémon Forum Rules + Ban List Neoseeker has always been a website based on gaming interaction and socialising. However, some selected few believe it is funny to break rules, which is why the current moderators are in force to conduct these rules.
Of course, all of the standard Neoseeker Site-Wide Rules apply when posting anywhere on Neoseeker. Below is a list of some of the most notable offenses.
Spamming: Spamming is basically pointless posts. This can vary from a completely off topic post:
quoteMember: I painted my toenails red today. To simply putting no effort into making conversation:
quoteMember: Don't use Blaziken, it sucks. One or two worded posts are also counted as spam and will be dealt with. "Well done" and "It sucks" is not useful input to a conversation or work. Instead try expanding on your opinion, so they can respond with their opinion or improving their work.
Flaming: Flaming is offencive use of language and I will not tolerate it whatsoever. Insulting other members of the forum is not encouraging and not pleasant at all. The use of flaming can range from childish insults:
quoteMember: Shut up, your Mum smells funny. To vulgar language:
quoteMember: *Bleep* off you *Bleep* idiot noob, no one *Bleep*ing wants you here! Double Posts: Pretty self explanatory. Don't do it, use the edit button instead. However, there are cases in this forum where it is acceptable. Bumps to Fanfictions, Comics, Roleplays and FakeDexes only are allowed if they have content in them. Posts with just "Bump!" are allowed until a reader or contributor posts, and then you should delete the "Bump" Post straight away.
Memberating: My job on this forum is to delete the rubbish and teach you lot how to behave in the forum. It is against the rules to take care of it yourself. I am the one who should judge what is wrong and what isn't in this forum, taking a situation into your own hands by berating a member for a mistake and/or something they have done of which you feel is wrong. Instead, simply click the button and I will see to it as soon as possible. Leaving a message after you have done so is Memberating:
quoteMember 1: I like Pie! Member 2: That is spam, you shouldn't do it in these forums. Unless you wish to provide a link to the person, the only right thing to do is to report them. Links should be friendly and welcoming, and make sure you report it too so I know your intentions were correct.
Flooding: Posting on every thread in sight can be seen as spamming. Raising your post count is not a reason to post and shall dealt with it if you are caught doing so.
Advertising: It's a big no-no. You agreed to not do so when you joined up to Neoseeker, and so you should stick to it, or suffer the consequences. Links to other sites should be asked for approval. Without approval, we shall delete the message. Links however, are allowed in your signatures and Neohomes.
Offensive Material: It was touched upon on the 'Flaming' rule. Offensive material can range from pictures, to insults, to jokes. Where intended to be offensive or not, it is not acceptable.
Rudeness: Since the forum has had more activity in the spriting community, you need to remember that they are only sprites, and do not need any arguing over. This includes generally being rude, abrupt and snide to each other. You'll recieve a warning if found to be rude to other members. If kept up, a post restriction or ban will be put into place.
There are also cases, where General Pokémon will have its very own rules. These are listed below.
Game Threads: They need moderator persmission first, only use them if approval has been given. It will usually be shown on the first page.
Tagging Questions: A new rule for General Pokémon. If you are asking a question expecting an answer, please use the tag option just underneath the message body to help future searches. Using this tag option and tagging useful information to the question can help for future members who always need that same answer. Likewise, if you're asking a question, please remember to search part of your question in the search box, as it is more than likely you're not the only one who wants the answer. If then you can't find the answer you're looking for, create a new thread.
If you still need any help, do not hesitate to contact the forum moderators. Mod Edit: Apr 28, 13 10:34pm by Midnight
