A single screenshot may seem rather boring and uneventful to many gamers. In the case of Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey, however, one screenshot is likely enough to set a passionate community of dedicated fans celebrating. It's real, it's being made, and there's more coming soon.
Red Thread Games is hard at work on their episodic follow-up to The Longest Journey and Dreamfall, it's just a matter of time before they have more to show. For now, they wanted to put out this screenshot and logo, which they say is meant to convey the following details:
- Marcuria is back. It's some time after the end of Dreamfall, and things have changed. How they've changed, we're not revealing quite yet.
- Dreamfall took place in winter. Dreamfall Chapters takes place in ALL seasons. The above shot is Marcuria in autumn.
- We're actually working on Dreamfall Chapters. We didn't make it up to avoid embarrassing questions from our parents about what we're doing with our lives.
As you can tell, the screenshot and details are mean for fans of The Longest Journey -- they're not directed at a new audience or the gaming community in general. In other words, Red Thread Games is making Dreamfall Chapters for you, the fans.
The image and news is meant as a sort of celebration for the launch of the studio's website. Check it out for all the latest info on Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey. Hopefully we'll get more news very soon.
PS: For folk new to the adventure game series, this will be the third game in the franchise. The three games so far are titled thusly: The Longest Journey, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, and now Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey. A bit confusing, no?
