How to start a tournament or season using trades

Hey guys, I made all the trades and created the draft picks and saved the game settings as "nba". so everytime i play i load that up and i get all the new rosters. But when i create a tournament or do a season the rosters get lost. is there anyway to retain the players?

I'm not sure if you can use created players in a TOURNY. I think you cna only use them in a Season.
