Aristotle not only studied almost every subject possible at the time, but made significant contributions to most of them. In science, Aristotle studied anatomy, astronomy, economics, embryology, geography, geology, meteorology, physics, and zoology. In philosophy, Aristotle wrote on aesthetics, ethics, government, metaphysics, politics, psychology, rhetoric and theology. It has been remarked that Aristotle was likely the last person to know everything there was to be known in his own time

Galileo was born in Pisa, in the Tuscany region of Italy, on February 15, 1564. Although as a young man he seriously considered the priesthood, at his father's urging he enrolled for a medical degree at the University of Pisa. He did not complete this degree, but instead studied mathematics, in 1589 being appointed to the chair of mathematics in Pisa. Galileo had three children with Marina Gamba two daughters, (Virginiain, 1600 and Livia, 1601) and one sone (Vincenzio, 16060)
