Rogue Squadron Problem after video card upgrade

I'm trying to get Star Wars Rogue Squadron to play on a somewhat more advanced computer than was originally intended. Here are the minimum system requirements on the packaging - along with what I'm using:
O/S: Windows 95/98 - Windows 98 SE
CPU: 166 MHz, 200 MHz recommended - Pentium III 1 GHz
RAM: 32 MB - 512 MB PC133
Video: 4 MB - nVIDIA GeForce 4 ti4200 64 MB
Sound: 16 bit - SoundBlaster Live!
DirectX: 6.0 or higher - The latest for Win98SE, 9.whatever

My problem is since the ti4200 is not among the supported chipsets, the program will not install. Obviously, this video card has far more than enough horsepower to run the game. I called LucasArts, and they basically told me the ti4200 wasn't supported.

Here's the point of this exercise: When I bought this game several years ago, I used a computer that met the system requirements, but didn't exceed them by much. Now that old hardware is cheap, I rebuilt and upgraded a couple of computers that would have been considered dream machines when these games were new. I want to replay my old computer games at the highest resolutions and with all the bells and whistles turned on.

Since I have several other games installed on this Windows 98SE computer, I wanted to choose a video card that well exceeded the requirements for every game. Alas, the ti4200 is TOO advanced for Rogue Squadron, and I'm hoping someone has figured out how to tell (or fool) the installer to quit complaining and do its job.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Seems you are in bit of a situation I don't know what to suggest.

There may be a way to copy the game files directly from the CD and manually Install them that way but I do not know the manner in which you would proceede.

Sorry for the late suggestion. Hope it can be of some use to you.

Too bad the Wii doesn't have Rogue Squadron on VC yet.

Thanks for the responses. Keep them coming, because the problem is not yet solved.

Sorry, I don't do console games, so the WII is out (but good idea).

re: Rogue Squadron Problem after video card upgrade

Maybe you should try updating or downgrading you video card drivers. Did you use the drivers on the CD that came with the video card or did you use the ones off the nVidia site?
