so i guess no one else is waiting for this game?
swat 3 was great, and the added online play was a good feature!
can't wait till this game comes out!

I never really heard about Swat 4 until now.. Or maybe I just saw a quick glance of it. I wish they went back to the Swat 2 style of action though. That was nice.

If you like realistic real-time tactical shooters that rely heavily on real-life realism and tactics, then this genre line is for you.

If you're an action shooter type that is quick to blow everything and anything in your way, into a sticky, bloody mess... I'd stick to the Unreal/Quake genre and steer clear.

The previous Swat Title, Swat3 and Swat3: Elite Edition, was strictly based on the above factors. Players truley only succeed by arresting suspects in two major modes of entry: Stealth or Dynamic Breach "Bangs to Bullets".

While there's very little public information on Swat 4 in a whole, many true Swat players of the "Fanatic" type have specualated a dissapointed 4th edition release, carrying old rumors of an "all out action shoot 'em up, sold out, give me the bucks!" product, targeted to the 'counter-strike' (adhd/impatient) generation gamer.

The above cannot be proved or disproved at this stage of development, which may be good or bad news -- depending on how much syrup you take with your waffles. Reason being, the developers of Swat 4 have swapped Game Engines numerious times over the past 3-4 years of it's creation.

i got the beta its fun. its still like swat 3 as ur slow and still if you rush in ur dead. i cant wait till it comes out. there are 4-5 modes in online play

VIP mode.

VIP MODE
vip is were there are 2 teams (duurrr). the vip has to
rush up to the resuce point. and the swats have to keep him safe. but the vip isnt AI. its a player. the vip is radomly chosen from the swat team were the vip has a gun and peper spray.
the terrorsts (supsepts) have to capture the VIP and hand cuff him but puting then in a daze with a gun or tazer(like in swat 3s reg one) then pushing the hand cuff key (h) and then handcuffing them. after that they must wait to mins before killing him. also the vip and crawl when handcuffed
when this is happening the swats must save the vip by using a tool to cut the hand cuffs. when the supsepts must stop that from happing ( yes u should see the camping tents now ) if the swats uncuff the vip the game goes on. if the 2 mins are up the supsepts have to shoot the vip.
if the swats shoot the VIP and kill him the supsepts win and if the supsepts kill the VIP before they handcuff him and wait 2 mins the swats win

i liked swat:3 EE, swat3:Game of the year but I have never played part four. I saw screenies and i fell in love

Glad someone said what Swat 4 multiplayer modes are like.

i didnt really know anything about swat 4 until someone said it was wicked lol, so i went out and brought it and now im hooked until another game grabs me and pulls me in!

It has done on the last two games, not much variation in it at all, the best is playing on official police servers with real cops who like to play realistically. Good fun.
