re: outbreak file#3?

You guys are all just jumping to conclusions without even giving a few second thoughts.
All the arguments are here stating that File #3 will not happen. However, even if a title failed to deliver great sales, it doesn't mean it's over.
With the new CG movie Biohazard: Degeneration, a new wave of Outbreak will occur. Without a doubt, that trailer gave us a glimpse into the year 2005 and yet another city being laid desolate to some major viral outbreak. Perhaps it's the G-virus? Maybe it's again the T-Virus?
Regardless, we still saw zombies in the trailer and the movie is set seven years AFTER the events of Raccoon City. With this in mind, it's very possible that Capcom is THINKING of reestablishing the title. Afterall, the formula behind the game, "an online survival horror", is a genius concept. All they have to do is learn from their mistakes with previous Outbreaks to make File #3 happen.
While no publicity has been given to the thought, it's without a doubt within Capcom's reach. Just look at what they're doing with two other, old dead titles... namely: Street Fighter and Bionic Commando. Two seemingly less important titles are being given another developmental shot. Why? Because they had a great concept, but arguably underdeveloped. This is evidence enough that a File #3 for Outbreak is still likely to occur. The only problem is that we can't claim that they're in fact doing it, we can only give optimistic speculation that they probably will.

I totally agree with everything Michael said. He pretty much covered it all. He's right, though. Just because the previous two Outbreaks got bad sales doesn't mean it's the end of the world (Or at least, end of CAPCOM'S world...). They got bad scores, which caused their low sales. But they got bad scores for A REASON. If it was for no reason, Capcom wouldn't even bother making a File#3. Well anyways based on the reviews from various different game sites I visited, the Outbreaks mostly got bad scores because of awkward online play with poor communication options and archaic gameplay. By hearing this you guys think when Capcom heard this they whined and slitted their wrists, saying "We won't continue the series. Forget it" and gave up just like that. You're taking Capcom like whimps, you don't know them like me, Michael, and everybody else do. What if they know now how to change all of the negative points their previous Outbreaks had when they make a File#3? What if they'll be prepared when they make a File#3? What if they KNOW what to change in their File#3 for gamers and fans?

I doubt they'll think about those ideas, Vixian. Like I said before, they're just jumping to conclusions. They're being ignorant. They don't care, alls they are doing is just sitting there typing "There won't be a File#3. Get over it and shut up" over and over. It's not that I'm asking them to prove it, it's just that it's plain stupid and idiotic...

There WILL be a File#3. Capcom is not emo like those guys take them to be. Where else did those File#3 NPCs come from? It's pretty obvious that even if they're not File#3 NPCs and are just leftover scraps that were supposed to be in File#1 and File#2, it's still considered a hint, like Mike pointed out. Besides that, Capcom knows that not everybody hated the Outbreak series. It was half and half; like/love got 50% and dislike/hate got 50%. Neither got 100, so that's why it always got a fair score on various game sites. You guys (the others) acted like EVERYBODY hated the series but they didn't so Michael was also right on that one, you were being just plain ignorant. My God, be optimistic for once, people!

Well I don't know whether it will be released or not, so consider me the wild card in this argument. Anyways based on from what I'VE heard, File#3 was rumored to have 21 levels including the 5 scenarios from File#1, the 5 scenarios from File#2, the 6 mini-games (Eliminations 1-3 and Showdowns 1-3) and 5 additional new File#3 scenarios. (unfortunately, the Training Ground from File#2 will be taken out) So what's 5 + 5 + 6 + 5? And last but not least, it was rumored to also have a crap load of new File#3 NPCs, too (of course). That's all I know about File#3 whether it is real or not, so don't judge ME on this...

You never know. It's just a rumor, but it is possible that Capcom would try bringing the Outbreak series to PSP. It would likely be the old scenarios, however. Plus, I doubt they would even do that much, seeing as how the PSP isn't selling very well, and the Outbreak series didn't sell well either. It would be releasing an unpopular game on an unpopular system, and for a company that's all about the money, it would be a huge mistake.
btw, Vixian, Michaelorne, and Mr.Nubcat; are you having a good time talking to yourself?

The PSP game in that link isn't the sequel. It has to be a prequel of some sort...

We don't actually know if it's going to be anything at all. At this point, it's just a rumor, and those are sometimes completely fabricated. It would be pretty cool to have a Resident Evil game, in any form, on the PSP, though.

Yeah and according to the rumors it will be a teamwork type game based on the Outbreak series but personally I don't think it's going to happen.

I doubt it as well. There may be a chance of a RE game on PSP in the future, but this probably won't be it.

So what you're saying is that there might be a Resident Evil game on the PSP, but not an OUTBREAK type? Yeah I was thinkin the same...it'll probably be Gun Survivor, except of course, ported.Your thoughts?

I don't know about that. Gun Survivor was a lame game, and I doubt Capcom would put one of their worst RE games on the PSP. If they do indeed put a RE on PSP, I have a feeling it will be one of the classics. Maybe RE2.
Then again, they do have a history of putting bad RE games with a somewhat first person view on portable systems, such as RE Gaiden on the Gameboy. So you never know.

I'm going to get a PSP for my birthday (which is coming up very soon) so I'll be prepared IF this game ever gets released...
P.S. sorry for the delay
