[Update] neoforums v1.0.7 - Tags, improved edit text, and auto sizing images!

Hi everyone,

This is a belated announcement of v1.0.7 with new enhancements that we just pushed today. We first deployed 1.0.7 last week so you've been using some of the new features such as thread tagging and the more concise Edit messages.

Image Auto Sizing (new to 1.0.7b, released June 29 2011)

Today we're doing a minor bump that greatly improves image viewing in both the full desktop site and mobile mode by auto sizing large images in threads and PM's so that they fit within the screen of your browser or mobile device. Images that are auto sized will also be clickable so that you can view the full sized image.

In mobile mode in particular this change is critical because in previous versions of the forums we did not resize the images in order to allow mobile users to see the fine details in images (eg text, maps, etc), since mobile mode disables zooming features of devices. Now you will find that images fit full frame in your mobile browser, but are clickable where appropriate so you can then zoom in as desired when viewing that picture alone.

This feature should be a welcome addition for all picture threads, Neomember threads, and people who previously used the spoiler tag may opt to see how this helps them out as well.


The full list of changes are:

+ images are auto sized to fit the width of the user's screen. If they have been shrunk by the browser's CSS and the browser supports HTML5, the images will be clickable to get to the full image.
+ this includes images in quotes and quote chains
+ mobile mode images in threads and PMs auto size to fit the width of the device, and are clickable to get a full version that can be zoomed in and out.
- fix quick edit mobile mode not removing post tags
- fix empty post tags showing up in mobile mode

+ users can tag threads - all threads from all forums tagged with the same tags are viewable in a special "tags" page.
% change to new compact Edit message text
+ Edit message text now has date/time in the timezone of the user reading the forums
+ PM icons inside thread all use Modal pm form

Great work on the updates Red and the rest of NeoStaff! I can hardly tell the edit messages are there anymore!

Also, love that we can now go and view full size images on mobile mode. Hated how I could only see the small version of images that had a lot of detail.
