Hello fellow Neoseekers,

We're very excited to announce Neoseeker's first true social network integration launch, featuring the ability to seamlessly share your Neoseeker activity with your friends on Twitter and Facebook. For a quick start guide check out ar_cat's instructional thread posted earlier today.

This is a completely optional, opt in system that will not affect what people see on your Neoseeker profile and was built with careful consideration of user preferences in mind. These features are not about Neoseeker members using social networks more, it is about spreading the word on social networks so that more people can learn about Neoseeker. Read a funny thread or made one? Share it on your networks and give it more exposure. Just uploaded your masterpiece to fanart? Share that too!

What is it?

On the most basic level, the social network integration consists of 2 concepts:

1. Connecting your Neoseeker account to Twitter and Facebook so that you can find social friends on Neoseeker (or they can find you) and invite friends to join you here!
2. The ability to share specific types of content that you create or like on Neoseeker. This is controlled by you so that you can define exactly what types of actions or content are shared, and to which networks.

Connecting with Friends

When you connect your Neoseeker account to Facebook or Twitter, you'll be able to:

• Invite your Facebook Friends and Twitter followers to join you on Neoseeker.
  • Your friends can register using their Facebook or Twitter credentials and start using the site immediately.
  • If your friends accept your invitation you and your friends are automatically added as friends on Neoseeker.
• Easily find other Neoseeker members who are your Facebook friends or Twitter followers whom you may have never known were on Neoseeker at all.

Our long term goal with these Connect features is to enable you another method to obtain access to your account. Sometimes members forget their passwords, or lose their email addresses, or simply forget what email they used to register an account. The next stem in our Social Network featres is the ability to retrieve your accounts through your Facebook or Twitter information. Think of it like a spare key to your Neoseeker credentials.

Sharing your content and actions

Social sharing is yet another way to share and keep up to date with different aspects of the site.

This feature is the gem of the social integration system. It enables you to automatically share content and actions on Facebook and twitter based on your own preferences. You can share everything, or nothing, on one network, or both.

Things that you can share include:

• forum threads that you create
• fanart that you upload
• user reviews that you write
• status updates <-- try this out!
• your Neoseeker blog posts
• things that you Like or Favourite.

If you enable sharing of Favourites, adding forums or threads to your favourites will share them on the networks that you enabled, so you can share forum threads even if you didn't create them.

Neoseeker Registration using Facebook or Twitter

Now its easier than ever to get started with Neoseeker. New commers to the site, such as your friends and family, can register a Neoseeker account using their Facebook or Twitter credentials, and start using the site immediately with no activation required. Often we have members who invite friends to join Neoseeker, and those friends sometimes have problems activating their account - this new support for trusted Facebook and Twitter accounts allows a quicker start to Neoseeker.

I don't use Facebook myself (and actually think it's a load of bu) or twitter, but I'm sure quite a few members will benefit.

I have FaceBook and Twitter. My username for Twitter is thegoodguy123 and I don't sound like Fone Bone as I communicate with any other people in any other sites except Neoseeker, as said in my custom title.

i think it's a great idea! i know a lot of forums that could use more members.
