	I want to clarify that the Folding@Home project does not directly cure diseases. It's more of an attempt to give researchers additional information about some of the base micro-biological mechanisms behind certain diseases and illnesses. The result of this information is that researchers can reduce the time it takes to learn more about diseases and find cures for them. 	count me in though I will have to do it tomorrow after work. My dad was diagnosed with cancer of the gullet back in August/September of this year. Unfortunately for him it is uncurable due to it being in his stomach and being hidden for almost over a year. Being in the thick of it all (still live with parents) it isn't a nice place to be and I would certainly not wish it not even on my most hated enemy. This may sound like giving up but I know there isn't much that can be done for my dad except pouring all hope into Chemotherapy and be there for him but if there is anything that can be done to help others going through the same thing or even prevent such vile diseases then I will do my best -------------------

	I haven't bothered to open this feature on my PS3 but I will now seeing as its purpose is to help save lives. So count me in.

I wouldn't want to use anything while F@H is running; the processor is getting a runaround as it is without the added stress you could add to it. I've been part of this team for ages, and I think I'm ranked 2nd.

	For those of you who still can't seem the grasp what this Folding thing is. As we understand protiens today they fold on themselves in an extremely un-random way to take the shape they do. By using the power of the computers we have today (especially the GPUs we have today), we can calculate how these protiens fold to see how a mutated gene could produce a protien that folds slighly different than another one, causing a different shape. A protien's shape is what is important to its function. Multicore systems can do other things while folding. Actually single core systems can do it fine. The amount of resources and CPU time given to F@H is determined by what ever else you are doing.
