Fast Food Tycoon 2 Faq
This isn't a full manual, but I'll tell you how to do some of the things the game doesn't tell you about. And how to beat the first two scenarios.
How do I buy a restaurant?
You buy a new restaurant the same way you build a headquarters or warehouse. Click on a residence then choose the first building icon. That will build you a new restaurant.
From there you have to furnish it and staff it.
How many employees should I have?
I have found that 2 cooks, 3 servers and 3 or 4 errand boys is optimum. Tag one of your errand boys for delivery service. He'll automatically take phone orders.
If you click the Persons Icon while inside your store, you'll see your schedule at the bottom. If you click on one of the errand boys, you'll see a box to the left of of the title "delivery." Click it to activate him. Now, he'll have a telephone over his head and will stand in the kitchen with the cooks until he gets a delivery order. When that happens he walks out of the restaurant with a pizza in his hand.
I can't tell how much money my branch is making? Where is the $ tab?
You have to have a headquarters before it shows up.
How do I hire a manager?
When you have a level 3 headquarters, you can hire a manager. The main advantage of this is that you can make auto pizzas that target a specific group. However, they don't always work quite right. Even when you use the so-called preferred ingredients for that group. I've found that copying your competition's successful pizzas and then tweaking them for a specific group works best.
How do I send a rat or cockroach to an opponent's restaurant?
Once your headquarters is to level 3, click on the prison and hire a couple of couriers.
Once they are in your headquarters, click on an opponent's restaurant.
At the bottom you'll see the words "Owner" with a tab with a magnifying glass on it.
Click on that and it will bring you to another set of tabs. Or you might see the tabs and no magnifying glass. Look for the one that looks like a bug. Click it and it will bring you to the Annoyances screen. Now just choose whatever nasty thing you want to do to your opponent. Certain things require certain personnel. Rats and stinkbombs are all you can do with couriers at a Level 3 headquarters. The more you expand your headquarters, the more things you can do.
Hints and Tips:0
Tip: Once you have a successful menu...save it for future use. You can load it up for all your other scenarios saving a lot of trouble.
Remember that training an employee makes him work at half efficiency during the training period. Hire an additional employee to do his/her job while training. Once you have all your main employees trained fully, fire the additional employees. You'll need to do this for each employee type.
Make sure you have a separate warehouse for each restaurant. They're pretty cheap.
Make sure your restaurant has a couple of tables with only two chairs to accommodate big shots
If you have a diverse clientele, Italo music seems to be the best way to please most of the customers' music tastes.
Scenarios:
Scenario 1: London
This one is very easy since you're rich to begin with.
Build a headquarters and expand it to level three as soon as possible. Send a rat to one of your opponent's restaurants.
Rent a warehouse.
Then buy a new restaurant.
You've completed all the requirements for the mission.
You don't actually have to sell even one pizza to win this mission.
Scenario 2: Berlin
This one is harder because you only start out with $70,000 so you have to become profitable quickly.
First thing. Sell your oven and add 2 big ones from the Supreme menu to the kitchen.
You'll need 2 cooks, 3 servers and 3 or 4 errand boys for each shift. 6:00-15:00 15:00-midnight. Keep the Midnight to 6:00 am shift open. That's for your janitor to clean up all the mess.
If you have a premade menu load it, otherwise look at your opponents' menus and try to copy whatever looks successful. You'll have to hand write the recipes and go back and forth to figure out what it looks like unless you do a screen capture.
You won't have the exact response from your customers that they have, but it should be similar. You can try to make pizzas targeted towards a certain group's favorite toppings, but I've found that rarely works.
Rent a warehouse with the cheapest rent you can get. And assign it to your restaurant. Don't forget to assign a supplier. Try to get the best quality and price. Upgrade it right away.
Now, you should start to make money pretty quickly. I've found that if I change my decor to Rustic, I get more people quickly, but that's your choice. It will take about $25-30,000 to do that. Just remember to change out the ovens. Also, you can add additional tables to open space and move the other ones to make room.
You don't really NEED a headquarters in this scenario, but I like to be able to see what my restaurants are making or losing so I built one anyway. You have plenty of time to remake the money.
Once you've gotten to about $100,000 which should take about 3 or 4 days, look way up in the left corner of the city and you'll see a slum-like area. Click on the cheap looking houses. The middle one will let you build a headquarters for about $65,000.
You should start making more money soon. Once you have a decent cash flow, go to City Hall and bribe the mayor for $5000. That should put your big shot rating over 60% fulfilling that part of the mission.
The next big thing is to buy a restaurant. It doesn't make any difference where it is, so go back to the slums and buy a cheap residence and build a restaurant there.
Don't put any furniture in it or hire any employees. It will only cost you about $295 or so a day.
Let your cash build up, then when you have about $60,000 or so, expand the restaurant you built to a medium restaurant.
Once it finishes renovating, you'll have finished the scenario.
Scenario 3: Madrid
I haven't been able to beat this one yet.
From here on, you're on your own.
