The day British people cant have a bit of a laugh slagging off the French is a sad day indeed. And hey im Scottish i get slagged from the bloody Irish, English and the French so i have to hit back. We know its immature and silly. Thats the whole point. Its just a joke. The vast majority dont take it seriously.

And the feeling is most definately mutual. Ever been in a Call Of Duty lobby full of French and British players? WOOOHEEY is that a barrel of laughs. Ahem.

And the French do infact have a long history of profficient fighters going back to the middle ages. Their performance in the 1st world war in arguably the most violent and deadly battles in human history was second to none.

However the French have lost some absolute stinkers. Their defeat in the napoleonic battles and invasion of Russia was an absolute disaster. Their defeat during WW2 was swift and absolute (although the only reason Britain survived these initial manouvers is because we have some water between us).

The US wa in Veitnam was partly CAUSED by a horrendous French defeat there. Though america cant say much about faliure in that region i suppose.

France just seems to always lose when it really counts. And they have signed many surrenders in their history. They have a very sketchy and patchy history with militair success. But then so do most nations. Frances just stand out due to their strategic importance and being very recent.

Yeah. I think the British and Anzacs have a somewhat overlapping sense of humour but most of the rest of europe and the America's dont seem too impressed. Then again european humour is as bizare to us as we must be to them. Ever seen any german comedy? Really strange.
