It's 2 AM, I wake up at 6 AM. Any advice?

I've been laying in bed the past few hours, and I simply can't fall asleep.

It's pitch black in my room, there's no noise whatsoever in my house, I've been to the bathroom, I've tried counting sheep and counting a variety of other animals, I'm not cold or hot and about 12 AM I drank a glass of warm milk.

As far as I know, I do not have insomnia, just one random night out of the year I generally can't sleep.

So finally, I came here to Loungin'. Staying home from school will not work out, as I was absent the past two days, so.

Whenever I can't sleep I try my best to clear my mind of any thought whatsoever. Imagine a white, empty room. Whenever you have a thought trying to linger into your empty mind, erase it. Soon enough you'll have nothing on your mind to keep you up. The more you keep stressing about it, the less likely you'll fall asleep.

Don't think about what time you have to get up, makes it worse, trust me.
If I have to get up at 6am or before I sometimes have trouble getting to sleep mostly because I worry I wont be able to get to sleep.
Getting on the internet wont help you sleep.
What a boring TV show while laying down.

Just unplug your alarm clock and pause time.

Probably insomnia although rubbing one out usually helps with relaxation.

Yeah your only hope when you can't sleep like that is clear your mind. But its to bad it doesn't always work.

My best technique is to walk through a journey in your head. I don't necessarily mean walking from A to B (but that might work) but everybody is different. So for me, I walk through my first dance solo from when I was six years old. It makes me use my memory and I can honestly say I've never made it to the end of the dance without falling asleep.

You could do your walk to school, a car journey, a game sequence you know well, anything that will make you use your imagination.
