anubis was the least arrogant of the goa'uld. plenty of better choices. seeing as apophis was the most recurring character, he would be better suited to pride.

I originally said Apophis but then started thinking Anubis because of that scene in which he basically teases the Oma for the fact that, despite being a much higher being than him, because he fancies having the attention of the Ancients while he recreates the Milky-Way and is totally confident even they won't stop him. It's like in Christian myth Satan actually thinking he could take God.

Also Ba'al was the long lasting Goa'uld.

i think ba'al and apophis would be about the same in duration. ba'al remained longer, but he first appeared later. he might have a season up on apophis though.

as for anubis, you could argue that it was only a few major gloats, but a massive one, while the others were constantly arrogant.

The problem with Anubis is that its hard to sound especially arrogant when you are an actual half-a-god risen up from a race of false god. Thats why I find that scene so defining.

Actually, Ba'al has more seasons but they both appeared in Continuum so Apophis was in the beginning and end of SG1s story
