Maybe if the site was more diligent about allowing kids to post here, it wouldn't happen so much.

You need to teach them appropriate behaviour, not just ban them and/or play them as the victim because people criticise them.

I've got to say, an age limit seems like a good idea. Especially when the young kids irritate everyone else then hide behind "hey go easy on me you're all so much older than me!". Why sign up in the first place if you don't like everyone being so much older than you..

Pretty much this - there is already a reccommended age of 13+ for the site and yet we still get plenty of pre-pubscent kids running around.

but again, will that actually stop such people from using that excuse? it wouldnt. and if mods are more lenient on younger people, they arent doing their jobs properly. everyone here adheres to the same rules, regardless of age, so there should be absolutely no difference in how punishments should be handed out.

Moderating when it comes to age (and sometimes mental disabilities) can be a tough one to be honest. The general concensus is that, obviously, we shouldn't differentiate those members from any other member - to which I believe 99% of the moderating community adhere to. But from what I've seen and been a part of, there has been some quite extensive discussion on the matter.

I think the best thing to advise is if you see a moderator being more lenient on a member because of their age is let their section or category moderator know, or even a super (or all of them) and let them deal with it internally. I've seen one or two cases of people publicly lynching moderators for doing such a thing, and it's just really messy.

However, I don't think imposing a stricter limit would in any way act as a delimiter, because it seems a bit counter-productive to ban someone based on age, just as much as it is to moderate someone differently because of age.

Just keep in mind we're not outlawing everything that's even remotely inappropriate, just threads where the topic is sexually explicit. Like Stitch said, it's an issue that Admin team made law so we gotta follow.
