Not finding the opening ceremonies to be very entertaining. Theres some cool stuff I guess and I like some of the music but the whole thing is so long its not really worth sitting through the weird shit. Then again, I've never been too much into British culture and shit but whatever. Bring on the games.

I found them to be really entertaining. Now that they're airing in the US, I'm recording the ceremonies so the family can watch later.

I don't see how. Beijing was a farce in the end, fake singers, CGI instead of an actual spectacle.

Not gonna lie, I didn't care for it. Lot's of stuff to represent ideas and symbolize history, but it was a tad on the boring side. Loved Mr. Bean though. Glad to see Rowan Atkinson still has it.

Watched this in Hyde Park last night with Duran Duran, Stereophonics and Snow Patrol playing. was completly outstanding. Proud to be British etc etc

Mr Bean was good as was Bond. Loved the Music through the decades bit, we really shaped music.

The host country makes me pay thrice the amount than british students for my University, and a few racist bastards dare to tell me I'm not welcome there. yup. but that's including accommodation with my College.
Else it's 25,000.

I hear Home Students' fees are going up next year though, I'm thinking they can't afford to raise fees for internationals anymore

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about my fees - I'm bitching about people who don't realise the amount of money their "great" university gets just from Internationals.Of course, add to that research grants, donations, fund raisers and government loans, but I'm pretty sure Internationals' money accounts for a lot in a Uni budget.
