Back in it's heyday, at least as long as I've been a member, Loungin' would average 1,000-1,500 posts on any given day, and that number would sometimes hit 2,000. It's currently not even above 300. I think it's hard not to draw the conclusion that Neo is dying (or, if you prefer a different term, not nearly as active). I think the reasons for why are pretty easy to nail down. While long (and short) term members have always left, there isn't anyone else coming in to replace them the way it was for so many years. I've been quite inactive for the last three or so years of my six year membership, and I've done little more than lurk with the occasional post since I was last truly active, and frankly, it's shocking to me how few names I recognize. Some members like ChiroVette and DragoniteBallZ who were around long before I was remain, and others have long since gone inactive. The problem is that, eventually, the forums get boring for most members, and they aren't being replaced.

Neo is a relatively community-based website, and the downside to that is that websites based around different communities will never be as popular as websites like GameFAQs, which instead rely on simple fact giving and game discussion. Neo isn't so focused on game discussion, and it wasn't large enough to continue sustained growth when things like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Reddit, and tumblr got popular. There was more immediate satisfaction to be found there, so unless a person was already in the community, there was no reason to stay very long. My leaving was probably a more unique case than most peoples, since it wasn't simple boredom.
