Archetypes! (or stereotypes, whatever fits the bill)

Social archetypes, right. What I've been told, not what I've learned, what I've been told is that there exists in pretty much every school in the first world a bunch of different archetypes of people.

You've got the jock, the nerd, the cool kid, the gamer, the sporty one, the bully, the bullied, the goth, the quiet one, and, apparently, the average joe.

I guess this thread is more to help me understand what these archetypes mean, like what defines a jock? What makes someone a cool kid? If I walk around all day with a cap on backwards does that make me a jock? Am I living in the 90s or something?

Also what the f*ck is a preppy kid? I just read through Watain's disturbingly hopeless thread and that term popped up several times. What is?

If restricting myself to one class is considered normal, then I'll be considered the psychotic one with multiple personalities! Sometimes I'm quiet, sometimes I'm hyper. Other times I'm all active and want to do all sorts of sports or outdoor stuff, yet other times I just want to stay home and be a nerd, completely antisocial.

I've been told I'm crazy and smart, but I deny both. I think I'm an average joe, a completely average person.

I'm the average quiet gamer.

If we're going by school times, I wasn't really any of those, I was the spaz...

But now, I'd call myself the distinctly average joe kinda guy.

I was always one of the cool kids though I managed that despite everyone knowing I was also a gamer and a straight up nerd. I guess what swayed it for me was that I didn't lack the social skills of many of the nerdy guys and could talk about more than just games. It meant regardless of what "group" they were a part of I was always accepted..

Many of the gamer guys at school couldn't talk to anyone unless it was game related and that really is a hindrance. I never had that issue I'd talk to anyone about anything, I guess I had it easy at school as I never really had any predators or anyone out to pick on me as everyone for whatever reason liked me. Haven't been as universally accepted in adult life but I am a lot more outspoken, I used to be nice to everyone and not speak up not that I had to but now I'll have a go at anyone if I think they deserve it, you make some enemies doing that unfortunately.
