This is kind of a niche problem, but I'm going to ask it anyway and hope someone has an answer... I bought Worms World Party from Amazon.com and it apparently shipped from the UK. I don't know if the disc itself is US region or UK region, but I can't for the life of me get it to work on my Windows 7 laptop.

Every time I start it up, the screen flashes dark grey, then black, dark grey, black, dark grey, and then Windows tells me that "there was a problem and the game had to close." I tried running in administrator mode along with all the service packs, the whole shebang, then checked online and patched it to the newest version. The US path didn't acknowledge that there was a disc in the drive and the UK one gave me the same problems, so I'm assuming I have the UK version. I checked again and found that someone had made a fix for the game in order for it to work in Windows Vista/7; so, I downloaded and ran it. The three methods it tried were to suspend Explorer.exe, to disable the Aero themes, and then to kill Explorer.exe. None of these three methods work, I'm still getting the flashing black and grey crash.

According to all sources I can find online, the fix has worked for everyone else. Does anyone have ANY idea what the problem could be?

I can legally make an ISO of the disc. Not download one from someone else, who is violating the law by distributing said ISO.

And in any case, since I already paid for the disc, I'd prefer to use it.

PC games aren't region coded. And Worms World Party doesn't work on Windows 7, it's a compatibility issue.

I've given blood to the Red Cross once and at least a dozen times to Virginia Blood Services. Of course, doctors and nurses have poked me all my life. I can just imagine these ladies missing the vein about five times before getting it right.

like i said, that would be the least of your concerns. the nerve is the worst. makes missing a few times look like nothing.
