Why build $15k Powerful PCs when u can buy a $300 console?

I have been wondering.
For all those people with a good budget, why build or buy powerful PC's which range from $2000 to $15,000 if the consoles can run the graphics and all under around $300???

Better graphics, higher fps, quicker processing, etc.

Gaming PCs are by far superior to consoles. The only problem is, is that game developers tend to favour consoles over the PC, so you never fully achieve your PCs true capabilities. And you don't need to spend 15k to get something good, that's ridiculously unnecessary. Mine cost me about £900 (custom built) about a year ago and it's been able to handle everything I've thrown at it, and in the highest settings.

I use to be a PC gamer, but I mainly stick to PS3 these days.

I'll tell you straight up, if I still had the money for a rig I'd pick it over consoles any day of the week. Oh and they're expensive, but 15k? lol.

It's just far better. Graphically, performance, mods, dedicated servers, more games, Steam. No brainer really.

Realistically $1,000 - $2,000 is the cost for an average, effective, gaming PC. And that can stay solid for a few years, since Games cater to consoles more than PC as stated earlier. Not to mention, the mods and superior performance of the PC.

Bet you can't guess just how much RAM the PS3 uses.

If a GOOD pc costed you that much, you've been ripped off.

Stop buying Alienware. I built my own for around 600-700 USD and it was not that goddamn difficult as some make it out to be. (60fps on BF3 at high settings.)

Playing on PC has always been much more of a comfortable experience for me, dating back from my childhood. Playing games in full HD really stands out and it puts my sub-HD 360, and PS3, to shame hardware-wise.

You'll also find some of the best RPG and isometric experiences on PC IMO. Please do not play the new XCOM enemy unknown with a controller.

Edit: Just saw the video... he seems like one of those, "this is what I spent my entire McDonald's wage on." types.

There'll be some consumers who can't hold onto their cash for shit. Just ignore their idiotic purchases, really.

And considering a PS3 runs on that little bit of RAM, it's easy to imagine how it can be a pain when compared to a PC.



Toss in it's lack of some types of Graphic Support. I love the PS3, but I at least am aware of its flaws. Plus the net play is free, so I can't complain.



But anyways, I'm not entirely sure what the RAM usage maxes out with some boards, but I know my mother board can use up to 8gb. However I'm pretty sure Windows further limits how much you can use. Don't quote me because I'm not a hardware/software guru, or anything like that. I'm just going off of what I heard, and remember.

Another reason PC is better. You get a lot more flexibility when compared to a console, and a lot better resources in the hardware department.



I love my PC. I can't wait to finish updating it and getting it into a better case. I'd be playing Mass Effect on it if it wasn't for the fact the Boyfriend pre-ordered it for the PS3 before he asked me what system.
