Do We Only Like Our Siblings Because They're Relatives?

I was wondering this today, and it made me pretty depressed...

If you weren't related to your siblings, do you think you'd still be friends.

Lets face it, you argue with your siblings more than you do with your friends.

When you really think about it, and think that the only reason why you like your siblings is because they're related to you, kind of makes me sad.

Tbh my younger sister is one of the most annoying people I have ever met. She is a bieber fan, bitches at everyone, posts duck faced pics on fb, her and her friends act like dumbasses constantly, I'll let her get away with tons of stuff and she will go off on me for the stupidest shit, not knowing that I've saved her ass on numerous occasions. I just can't stand her sometimes. She's also one of those people who just got into dubstep and are all "haii have you heard Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites by Skrillex? It's a really good song!" Seriously, if we weren't family I'd punch her in the face. And she just turned 13. My mom has even told her that if she wasn't her daughter, she wouldn't love her. Then again, I also hate a lot of things about my mom. I do like/love all the other members of my nuclear family though.

I'll gladly be the first person in this thread to say that I'm very close to practically all my family and I don't dislike anybody within it... and I've got a pretty massive family. I like and dislike some aspects of my siblings but then that applies to any person, I'd definitely like them if they weren't my family anyways but I guess it's a bit different as I'm the oldest and they pick up on things which I do and sorta copy. To branch out a little, I'm very comfortable around all my cousins and I can say with complete honesty that if they weren't related I'd still like all of them.

I hate my brother with a passion. If there would be no negative consequences he'd be dead, comatose or disfigured.

I love the rest of my family though.

I used to tell my younger sister that I wouldn't have anything to do with her if she wasn't my sister because she was so fake and stupid, lol. It was a good way to upset her if she was being a bitch. I'm an asshole, oh wow. Anyways, after we both matured we learned that neither of us were so bad and grew to love one another for who they were as a person instead of constantly looking to fault the other.

I love all my family and even if they weren't family I'd still love them because they are good people. (y)

Never had much issues with my older brother or sister. My older brother is a homophobe, which is...annoying and ignorant but whatever.

If I wasn't related to my sibling, I would still feel the same way towards them. I don't like them one bit.

If my family wasn't related we wouldn't be as close but we would still be close I get along with about my whole family.
