Rules
There aren't many rules. In regard to exclusive game rules themselves, I've a special way to handle those I'll come back to. Still, there are cardinal rules all Mastermind players must follow:
1) Be active. I'll do the best I can to keep in mind people's various schedules and give time for other things, but activity is a must. 2) Don't take it TOO serious. I don't mind drama, it's all part of the fun. Still, at the end of the day, it is just a game. Don't make things personal. 3) Send in Journals at the end of each stage. After the Elimination Rounds, all I ask is that everybody sends PMs to me documenting their Mastermind experiences. I wish to hear about your planning during the various games, thoughts on experiences, allies, enemies, etc. 4) No Editing or Deleting Your Posts. Once you’ve posted, it’s permanent. I'm more relaxed about this rule outside of games than in. 5) Ask me first if you have an idea how to play Rule Lawyer. It's far smarter to come to me BEFORE a game begins and ask me questions about rules than it is to try and be sneaky during the game to exploit it. Rule 0 is that I have final say over interpretation of rules & I'll patch anything needed for competitive balance I may of missed. If it's something I decide to allow to exploit, just ask beforehand. Chances of you getting lucky because of being creative are good.
DTS' Mastermind Wisdom
"The value of a thing sometimes lies not in what one attains with it, but in what one pays for it - what it costs us." - Friedrich Nietzsche
"Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not. Hence a prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires." - Niccolo Machiavelli
A lion and a wild ass entered into an agreement to hunt wild beasts together. The lion was use to his great strength, while the ass would make use of his greater speed. When they had taken a certain number of animals, the lion divided up the spoils into three portions.
"I'll take the first share because I am the king," he said.
"The second share will be mine because I have been your partner in the chase," he said.
"As for the third share, he said to the wild ass, "this share will be a great source of harm to you, believe me, if you do not yield it up to me. And, by the way, get lost!"
It is suitable always to calculate your own strength, and not to enter into an alliance with people stronger than yourself. - Aesop's Fables

The game in basic concept uses the basis of roulette, though things build off of that into a far more psychological & tactical game. To earn points this game relies on betting. So, to begin, each player has received 1000 chips, each chip representing a possible one point. Your goal is to convert these chips into points through betting.
To play, we must first begin with deciding the Dealer for the round. Having the position of Dealer gives power over round in Roulette and control over the roulette wheel. To become Dealer, one first must bid on the position using their chips. To bid, you post as many chips as you’re willing to spend to try and become Dealer.
Example: I bid 150 chips to becoming Dealer
The maximum amount of chips you can bid is however many you have. Bidding will remain open for only 3 hours and begin at random instead of fixed time. Bidding only counts if done within the time period. All chips bided with will return to the house aka me, even if you don’t win. The player who bids the most chips by deadline will become Dealer for a round.
Once a Dealer is decided, we move into the next phase of gameplay: Roulette! There are 6 spots on the Roulette wheel: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, and 06. The roulette ball will end up in one of these. The question as to which is decided by the Dealer. They will have 24 hours to place the ball in one of these 6 through telling me via Hub PM. Once those 24 hours have passed, I’ll reveal just where they placed it.
During those same 24 hours, players will place bets within the thread on what spots they want and the amount of chips which they’ll be adding from however many they have. Dealer will bet as well. You can place as many bets as you’d like on however many options you’d like from the 6 or choose not to bet at all. Betting is done via the thread.
Example: I place 50 chips on 01, 25 chips on 02, and 100 chips on 05.
Once all the bets have been placed and the ball revealed, we will tally up points for that round. Chips placed in the correct spots will convert over to points which shall go to your main score. Chips in the wrong spots return to the house. Afterwards, we begin again with next round of gameplay. There will be 3 rounds in all.
This first round of bidding will begin whenever I finish watching the newest episode of MLP: Friendship is Magic. Which I'm about to start unless I have anything else I need to do. Season 3 RecordsThread 1- Featuring Stage 1 games Mexican Standoff & The Resistance. This message was edited on 2012-02-13T13:12:31-08:00.[/color]
