Nothing is going to be done about anything? What exactly are you trying to say? If this is still about the Edgefan facts thread then I don't see what you don't get. A thread where one member just keeps posting facts about themselves has never been accepted in Loungin'. You're comparing it to threads that are entirely different.

If this about a real problem then please speak up. It sounds like to me you're making a fuss because the moderators closed a dud of a thread that you just thought was funny.

I get what melb victory is saying. The atmosphere around here is really dull and tyrannic at times. All of the threads in Loungin' are always the same boring recycled shit but sometimes someone comes up with something clever and people swarm to it because people want to interact. I know I lurk from time to time hoping to see something catch on.

But these threads always seem to get closed down. Like someone said, it's mainly because of the assumption that the thread COULD spiral out of control rather than letting us have some rope with it.

Boring. Mundane. Dull. These words are being thrown around a lot. It just doesn't seem like we're really given a chance to change that.

I wasn't referring to this thread when I made my post because I wasn't around at all when it happened. I'm not accusing you guys of seeking out anything fun and splattering it. I think our standard of fun has been changed. No longer do these stupid little games saying +1 and -1 entertain us. We seek other options and our options teeter on the line.

I understand your point of view. I just feel like our pleas are being misdirected to individual incidences when really we're just talking about Loungin' as a whole. I'm not trying to get a rise out of you guys. Just playing devil's advocate for change.

But that's the problem with change. We always ask for it but we never have any clue on what exactly that change is.

less random threads and more official threads.

look at all the lounges on this forum, hell look at any of the GD forums on other websites

how do they survive? they don't survive by a 4chan sort of thing with random threads every day that don't last 24 hours

they survive with threads that are official and anything related to that topic is posted in there.

i'm talking about a facebook thread with everything I MEAN everything related to facebook is posted in there, a thread where you get to complain about your new girlfriend (relationship advice thread), a thread where you complain about school/uni etc. etc. etc.

this also shows that your post MEAN something, so people put more effort into their posts cause your post won't get lost after a few days in the many other threads and pages, and never seen again


and it's not that hard to do this, you can create a new thread (even sticky it) with why and how this will be done. then yous (or even members) can create some OFFICIAL threads that you feel would work and delete any new threads that can be put into these official threads.

i'm not saying get rid of people making new threads, just with more popular and general things that seem to have a lot of threads created have more official threads.

see i didn't even know we had a 2012 thread or a zombie thread, maybe enforcing them more might help?

it won't happen straight away but with time people will get the idea of using official threads for popular things

I think that idea is plausible, if Stitch and Misty agree with me.
