The loophole you speak of is similar to apprenticeships, they can pay people under minimum wage because their training can count as part of their wage.

Although I'd have thought that's a little different than waiters, they get paid exactly for taking the food to my door. I imagine they get petrol money for it or else nobody would bother (over here anyway). They usually act surprised when you say to keep the change so I imagine they're not expecting any tips.

i've always thought they have to pay for the gas, tbh. so it's only logical to tip them, especially when there's no delivery charge.. not to mention you don't want any sticky stuff on your pizza/ wings if you order often. again, maybe different culture, but you can obviously see the cultural difference when it comes to tipping.

Like I said earlier I understand that waiters make most of their money of off tips. At least that is what I have heard. So I don't mind helping someone out with a good tip. But if you're going to be an ass the whole time you probably should just get a different job.

in any case, im disinclined to believe a word of what you say. your coworker mixed period blood in to someones food? have you ever even TASTED blood? you know, that little bit when you accidentally bite the inside of your mouth, perhaps? what next? you got your indian friend, who ate chicken tandoori last night, to come and make you 'chocolate milk' for tht customer over there, who only tipped you her change? why dont you come up with a more believable story next time...

Lazzara - it was interesting and fun while it lasted. im glad we ended up calming down and having a more civilised discussion by the end of it. i like discussions where people hold their ground.
