What was different pre-2005? - Page 2

Pre-2005 was the heyday of my Neoseeker career for sure - that's when I was most active and generally had the most fun. The site itself back then was very simplistic, and I kinda miss the way the profiles used to look.

I think new members should stop worrying about it and move on. Times have changed so just make the best of it. The only people with the right to complain are the oldies.

Just like the world, neoseeker is getting changing for the bad/worse. I really miss the way it was until after 2007, 2008 is where it started to suck.

What I don't get is why is there the need to have cliques online. I guess I can understand somewhat in person. Couldn't anyone find the decency to get along?

Ah man, people obsessing over post counts, guestbook rage and the place was always busy in even the most unknown games section.

Members back then seemed nicer and weren't always trying to make jokes every post. Games were better so the forums were generally more popular.

I don't think people were particularly nicer. I know of quite a few members that ticked me off at one time or another. Nor do I think that generally speaking there was more activity. There were fewer members for certain.

I think what made it seem more active was that we were all excited to talk to each other back then. We got to know each other through shared interests. The forums we frequented gareenteed we would meet the same people day after day. A few would come and go and be forgotten but the regulars were always there. And even if you weren't strictly speaking friends you came to know people and respect them and look forward to hearing from them.

Then of course there were the big memorable events over teh years things that were unexpected and spectacular. Incidents that only the oldies can remember. And the people that became famous on the site for various reasons.

These days hardly anyone really seems to know each other. There are still people around I recognize but there are so many people I don't know that most threads are like talking to a crowd of strangers. Then of course the forums that I have favorited over the years have slowly died even the lounges. Worse still so many of teh conversations being posted are the same ones that were posted years ago. I don't know about other oldies but for me rereading a conversation I have already had with all these new people I don't know just doesn't appeal to me much any more. And nothing against anyone here but I can't remember the last time there was some excitement some big event that we talk about for years or some crazy member that makes a name for himself through sheer insanity.

I miss the old days man. We had discussions going in game forums years after they had come out. It was still active and we talked about older games and it was great.

And the music forum, man it use to be great! Its so terrible now! Barely any discussion going on at all, and its mostly about mainstream junk everyone knows about. I remember learning about new bands all the time back in the day. The music forum was so active! Like threads for new bands popped up daily and so much discussion. Now nothing. I got to the music forum and weep. I make posts, and never get a single reply now.

Screw all you new members! You're BORING! Learn to talk about something! GEEZ! Damn kids and their hip hop and iPads and... and... whatever else it is you kids do! Go rot the lot of ya!
