Praying in school

Its terrible to think that every time I try to explain to my friends that they've been brainwashed, they just say,"This is my own choice"

Not really. Look at yourself. You took a look at it and saw that all it was was brainwash, and stepped out. That's all organized religion is, an attempt to brainwash the people and keep them under your control. Look at history and you'll see that clear as day, and you'll be amazed.

I never really got brainwashed. Maybe I just am not that stupid then. After I stopped going to church, I realized nothing was different between going and not going. So I decided to stop kidding myself and stopped going. I decided to stop wasting my Sunday mornings with something that I felt no connection to, and thus stopped going. It was later on that after thinking about it a lot that I decided I didn't even believe and what not. I thought I did, but I've done research and stuff and religion just doesn't add up to me. So I stopped it altogether in my life. I called it quits. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

EDIT: After rethinking for a minute on how stupid what I said sounds, you're pretty much right.

It's really true. Most people I know who are religious kinda have it forced from early childhood. There are a few who have picked it up over the years though. There's a couple of people I've deleted on Facebook because every status is how god is great and how everything good in life is because of god. I told my friend I when I decided to call it quits with Christianity, and he got pissed. (yeah it was that thread I created). The last time we talked, he said I'm going to hell, so I told him I'd see him there.

i don't know that he was saying that, but usually these threads have more flaming than talking so... yeah haha

My primary school used to do that around holidays. Depends if you went to a christian school or whatever if they'd do it more commonly. I don't really care either way about it (tbh at such a young age i don't think i even realised i was an atheist. It's like believing in santa at that age, you just kinda assume you're meant to)
