Many open source projects use bit torrent to distribute their work, just check out sourceforge. Some companies are now using it as an option for distributing drivers. There's nothing wrong with discussing torrenting. It doesn't imply illegal activities. I use it to grab linux distros and freeware all the time.
Note: He's asking a question about demonoid which is used almost exclusively for illegal torrents.

N00bleT, they don't force you to seed, it's more of a courtesy thing. If your ratio drops there's no penalty - use your own discretion. Check the faq page for everything you need to know.
