Company of Heroes, as already mentioned, is also brilliant. Whilst not an RTS, you should check out the Civilization series as well, Cashis. I bought Civ 5 awhile ago and never got round to playing it much because it was a little buggy but they've fixed it all now (PC gaming ftw) and I've been playing it recently. bleeping amazing game. I say it's not an RTS because it's not real-time, it's turn-based, but obviously it's still a strategy game. Also StarCraft I and II are online, yes. You'd get annihilated by Koreans though, they're obsessed with it over there. They have television channels dedicated to showing StarCraft games.

Lol, it's ok, I'm shit too But the leagues are ranked, so you play against players that are similar in skill to you. Rise of Legends is the last(?) ROH game I think. Haven't tried it yet though but it does look good.
