	To get my hair cut. So yeah, I was in work and my team leader comes over to me, apparently one of the managers has complained that my hair was covering my face. It is a bit but it's not THAT bad. So he says the manager said that if I don't go and get it cut then they'll be sending me home. So I told them I was going to get it cut and just went home instead. Are they allowed to give me less than a days notice before threatening to send me home ? -------------------

	I don't see why not. If they think it will effect the way you work, or give the company a bad image, they have no problem booting you. You're a dime a dozen. So many people are looking for jobs, that if you're not good enough, you will be gone, and replaced. (in the US that is) And I think they can give you less than a days notice. They run the place. But it probably depends on where you work. -------------------

	This really depends on where you work. As Deathsythe said, if you're working with food then it can be a potential hygiene issue. Not only that, but if you do anything with customer service, as in talking to customers or clients face to face, then the company might want you to look somewhat respectable whilst doing it. After all, you are representing the company so they want to present a good image. 	I think you did the right thing, they can't tell you what type of hairstyle to keep.
