	I was looking around online, and this one actually caught my eye. quote Falling vs. Dropping: The next time you are at a mall, fall on the floor and act like you are in pain. See how many people actually come to your aid. Now, with this in mind, an hour or two later get down on the floor in the middle of the mall and look as if you are looking for a contact lens. Every time I have done this experiment, I have been able to get at least twenty to thirty people to help me with my search. In the case of falling, people do not want to get involved if you might actually be injured. The Good Samaritan has been long dead in most cases. In the case of the contact lens, people get involved as if it were the competition. They want to be the one who finds the lens. These people want the others to feel inferior because they were unable to find the lens, and had just wasted their time. 	I wouldn't help someone who appeared injured because I know I'm not trained to help someone. I've seen news articles where someone got hurt and in the process of helping them, the helper hurt the victim and sued. It's not that I'm heartless, it's just best to avoid the situation and hope someone more prepared for the scenario comes along. In my Psychology class back in High School, we did a few experiments with the school. In the middle of the day, my classmates and I would be in the library and every 4-5 minutes, I'll let out a yelp. One of those yelps you typically hear come out of the Special ED room. I would yelp and my classmates would count how many people actually reacted to me. On the first yelp, like 1 person looked. By the time I did 6 or 7 yelps, the whole library was glaring at me. ------------------- Don't these talking monkeys know.... ....that Eden has enough to go around?

	I just remembered that my class also did something similar to the Falling vs. Dropping scenario except we had a friend just lay in the hallway to see if anyone would check to see if he was alright. No one did. We only got two teachers who checked to see if he was asleep and then got told to go to class. Another experiment we did was we put a trashcan in the middle of the hallway and a ball of trash right in front of the trashcan. We counted 50 people and only 3 of them stopped to throw the trash away. ------------------- Don't these talking monkeys know.... ....that Eden has enough to go around?

	Well this could be viewed as a social experiment. My friend put laxatives in his own drink at 8:30 in the morning and everyone took bets on how long it would take until he ran to the bathroom. ------------------- Don't these talking monkeys know.... ....that Eden has enough to go around?

I don't think you should avoid the situation entirely, you should call for help if that person is immobilized. But yeah, you shouldn't do anything directly if you have no first aid training.

	Helping somebody who has fallen over is a bit odd, you never really know how they're going to react. Whereas helping somebody is a bit more impersonal. -------------------
