Free electricity from the phone line, and TV/radio waves |
|
well after watching this video, and reading the comments, among which said that its possible to extract electricity from the electromagnetic waves for televisions and radio, i got curious and want to try it out. now first off, is the voltage and amperage the same all over the world? probably not, so does anyone know what it is in europe? also, regarding the electromagnetic waves, i couldnt find much info on that, so how would one go about getting the power from those waves? and no, this isnt some attempt to get free electricity, as i know these dont power much, but me being someone with a little too much time on his hands, i thought i might give this a whirl. -------------------

Englands and the rest of Europe (I think) run at 230V. The Hertz runs at 50 aswell, not 100% sure.
The amperes? Depends on the Resistance of the conductor. Can't look at the video at the moment. ------------------- ![]() But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Wait, wouldn't you need electricity in the first place to be running the phone in order to extract electricity from it?

Other than powering a lamp, I wouldn't really know what else the electricity could be used to power.
And what would happen when someone dials? Does it turn your lamp on? Waste of time IMO. ------------------- I could be brown I could be blue I could be violet sky I could be hurtful I could be purple I could be anything that you like

Doesn't work. They shut off all power to your house if they suspect something is leeching power from a phone socket.

Extracting electricity from the air? You can't. I mean, you could extract electrons from air molecules, but... why? It'd take more energy to extract them than you'd get from them.

I could have sworn that I saw comments that say it doesn't work. I tried one of his videos too, and it didn't work...

so its not possible to make some kind of apparatus that will simply take electromagnetic waves from the air and convert them into electricity without using another source of power first, right northern?
