Alright so I got both my cell phone and iPod confiscated during an unannounced screening today at school, and word is out that there may be another screening tomorrow. That's a problem because I have to be somewhere important after school and I need to take my phone along (thank God I have two phones). Is there anyway to get my phone passed security without them detecting it? Some people have been telling me to wrap tinfoil around it. Iderno if it actually works.

Run around the detector wearing a mask and a jacket so that they cannot ID you later when you take off the mask and jacket and begin blending in with the crowd

It all depends on what they're using to screen you, if it's high tech, there is no way you can avoid it, if it's low tech... wrapping it in a lot of layers might stop it from being scanned;; or you could hide your phone and get it later...

All confiscated devices are being returned within a week. I need it tomorrow and they won't do early returns for nothing.

No clue if it's high or low tech. I just know that it's capable of detecting anything metal, which is why we had to remove our belts, jewelery, keys, etc. I guess that makes it... high tech?

Schools are seriously f*cked up these days. I go to a high school in Pennsylvania, and about half of the kids, (me included), are rednecks. Rednecks are generally in the South.I got suspended for 10 days just for saying "Obama sucks".It's bullshit.

I think you guys have some strange high schools... The one I go to would never suspend someone for saying "Obama sucks" and definitely has no metal detectors.

But I have a question, are they allowed to keep your item for a week? Something doesn't seem right. Unless you signed some kind of policy or something or it's in the school's rules already...

You remove jewelry and such? If it's small enough, put it in some big dorky locket. It will look ugly, but you'll get it in.
