Do you expect thread creators to post in their own thread? |
|
Read the title.
Personally, I just don't see many thread creators posting in their own threads when the thread is random nonsense or something for others to see/do. It's often like once they create these kinds of threads, they should sit back and watch what happens. ------------------- For the future, I needed to leave Oracion for the world...• The Rise of Darkrai

75% of the time, I create a thread, then log off. When I ge tback on, I see what's happened (If anything) and reply if I feel like it...In my whole 3 years on Neo, I've created maybe 10 threads >>; ------------------- ![]()

Uh.. yeah. They often do. If it's a nonsense thread, they'd join in on the replies. If it's a serious thread, they'd agree or disagree with one of the first posters and continue on. If it's a spam thread.. he could continue spamming. So on, so on.

I post way more in my own threads than in other threads.

I believe it is only polite to post in your own thread since your the one who's asking the initial question it's nice to have feedback.

quote Jerk Store^ Sometimes that's the case for me. If I create a thread it's because I'm honestly interested in it, so there's a higher chance that I'll want to respond to someone or more than one person. The only time I don't participate in my own thread is when I forget I've made it XD ------------------- ![]() This is Jeffrey; he's a dragon. A dancing dragon.

My threads have something called discussion and content. It'd be silly for me not to go back and respond, since I'd be missing out on discussing something I'd be interested in.

I don't think I should waste my time answering that because I don't expect you to reply back.
Seriously, it just depends on the thread. I doubt they will post too much if they made a "Coke Vs. Pepsi" thread. ------------------- ![]()

To be honest, when I start threads I just like to see what eventuates. I like to see what other people have to say about my topic at hand, and that interests me far more than whoring about in my own thread.

I do generally expect that the thread creator will post again in the thread, assuming it has gotten posts from other members.
Sometimes it's not really something to be expected (ie: creation of intro threads and the like). -------------------

I usually post in my threads because I'm looking for discussion on the topic, so it's more likely I'll find someone's post interesting and worth replying to.

As a general rule, it makes sense for the creator to participate in his thread.
What I dislike is when people reply to every single post (mostly with pointless one liners) so they can make their thread more popular. Almost as bad as announcing they'll add some extra info or their own input if it reaches X amount of pages. ¬¬ ------------------- ![]() Can't leave it, the game needs him Plus the people need someone to believe in
