A few of my classmates, school acquaintances really, have been saying these two things a lot, for about the past month or so. What I don't get is why. Shouldn't stuff like this be left on the Internet? I can understand LOL and the like being actually said, as they're used in daily text messages and such, but "FAIL" and "The Game"?

Hopefully they will learn about Picard too.

Seriously, they're pretty damn behind, the game ended, and "FAIL!" has been popular for almost 2 years now. Ask them if they know what "xkcd" and "failblog" are...

I myself do still sometimes make my friends lose the game in real life, and when they fail, I say "fail." Not much to it.

Don't see how saying lol seems ok to you. Never had anyone say it while talking. Should sound frikkin weird.

Alright, first of all, anybody who said the word "LOL" out loud should have been aborted as a fetus. The term "LOL" originated as a way for people to communicate that something they saw or heard on the computer made them laugh. When you're in a real-world situation where you can actually laugh out loud, *bleep*ING LAUGH *bleep*ING OUT *bleep*ING LOUD. There's nothing stopping you from actually laughing, so do it and you won't look like an idiot for using an Internet abbreviation.

Second of all, the next time you see anybody who uses "The Game" in a public situation, punch that person in the throat.

I think people only ever dream of saying "LOL" is when something is hardly funny enough to warrant laughing.

That's not true. If somebody's giving me a headache and I punch them in the throat, my headache goes away.

There was nothing like watching the older generations discover the internet, they are only just catching on to the trends which were annoying in 2006 and trying to pass it down progressively down the chain to the teens, who are ahead of the rest of the folks.

I don't even get what the newest trend is half the time. However, I am getting tired of people discovering "Caturday".

Emails over the past decade have come down from being meticulous to being, well...

People could with technology are ahead of the curve, but it takes some time to trickle down.
I don't mind it, I can feel superior.
