Then I realized the steps necessary and how unlikely it is. Telling myself otherwise or trying to think in such a manner results in an arrogant attitude usually. "I can do this etc etc.". And that clouds your viewpoint and judgements. Something which has no value limit.

	You're being way too pessimistic. Yeah, the sad truth is none of us are really amazing at anything. None of us can consider ourselves "the best" at anything. No one who knows music theory can sit and say "Yeah, I can sightread anything." So you play the guitar? Good for you man. That's something to appreciate and live for. Who gives a damn if you can't read music. Some of the best musicians I know can't sightread anything. Start being more optimistic. You're good at guitar. You have a good vocabulary. You have so much left to experience. Don't let philosophy and over thinking get in the way of you having fun and living your life. Live in the present. I am a prime example of fighting against all odds, and stepping out of the mould that society places on someone. By no means did I wish to be grouped into the working class, and as such I fought my way out of that step, and rose to a position above that. Through my own blood, sweat and tears, I became the person that I am today; the person that I wanted to be. Sure there is a lot of hurt, uncertainty, and rejection along the way. But you have to be stronger than that and step above it if you want to get where you want. People don't blossom into who they want to be overnight. It has to be cultivated, and eventually, if you stick to your course you'll get there. Anyway, I'm about done with this thread. 	You sound like you need to enter the world of lowered expectations. You seem as though you thought things were going to be great and life was going to be fun, and then you realized things don't go you way and life can suck from time to time. In this real world of lowered expectations, chances are: you're not going to date a cheerleader, you're not going to be popular, you're not going to be rich, you're not going to your dream job, hell, you won't even get your dream car. You will however, have opportunities to find a date, make friends, make good money, have a job you don't utterly hate, and you also have the ability to work hard, have some pride, and improve your situation. You have to find something about yourself that you know is good. If you can't respect yourself, no one will respect you and they probably shouldn't.
