Why homework!?!?!?

Because it makes you learn and keep ahold of the subject better if you do exercises at home. If you gotta master lessons, sometimes class time isn't enough.

You remember things better and get the hang of them more if you write them down more than once

Also to make sure you know how to do whatever it is without somebody holding your hand the whole time. Metaphorically.

Maybe you're bad at time management? In 7 years of high school, I've never spent 3hrs on homework unless i've had lengthy breaks in between those 3 hrs.

Well, I generally agree with you guys. You can't cover everything in class. Homework is a must have.

BUT, when a teacher sends you home with 3 hours worth of work, that is nothing but the same math problem, asked over and over again, with little difference between each question except for a number here or there, IS WRONG! How many times must I multiply a by b and divide by .10? HOW MANY TIMES?!

Sorry, I'm just ranting. My math teachers pissed me off, because class was so redundant. I would learn a math equation the first time they explained it, but then they would attempt to explain it to me about 10 more times, even though I understood it the first time. I can understand that other kids may take a bit longer to learn it though. Still, I don't think they need to practice the same equation 100 times before they understand it fully. All the extra practice is such a waste of time.

Exactly what I was going to say, sure once I got a record 4 hours worth of homework!!!
