	It probably takes too long to even matter. My guess is a few thousand light years. Meaning it takes 3 thousand years for light from that star to reach us.

	Actually to correct myself and Zidane, the second closest star is Barnard's Star, which is 5 light years away. It's measured as the closest within a vicinity of 5 parsecs from the sun, so with Alpha centauri as the closest, that's the next closest. The star as we see it is from 5 years ago, because that's how long it takes the light to travel to Earth, so to get to the 2nd nearest star you'd need to travel at the speed of light for 5 years. As for Alpha Centauri, if that's what he's referring to, it would take 4 years. ------------------- To me, absurdity is the only reality.
